  • Has it been a year already geez

    • and I still haven't received my free sample…

(just kidding, it arrived ages ago and was delicious!) :P

      • +8

I still havent received my free sample……..

        (I'm being serious) >:(

        • +1

Where's my sample? I waited for you already

        • +1

          Ditto

        • Yup I never received mine either… i did order a kilo bag anyways… but was a bit miffed to miss out on my free trial.

      • haha.

The problem is there are all these new flavours now so I'm going to have to try these before I find out what my favorite flavour is :(

  • You are Evil.

    :-)

  • Ordered! please send the order along with the free 1 kilo bag, I know I'll win, to me.

  • how do these jerky taste compare to the ones say from markets or shops, does anyone have some feedback, they seem to be awesome, espeicially the hotter ones

    • Try reading previous posts for info , there's lots

      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/search/node/geronimo

    • I'm not sure if you have tried the beef Territory Jerky but I think it's quite similar to that at a lower price. The only places I’ve seen the Territory Jerky being sold is my local video/dvd store and Hahndorf (if you are in Adelaide).

BTW, they're both very tasty! :)

  • +3

Its tempting but your prices are still not that great vs your competition. It would have to come down quite considerably for me to try em out.

    • Hello HotMustardsauce,

Who would you say are our competitors? I just checked some pricing and we seem to be on even par with then but with a better quality better tasting all nautural Beef Jerky.

      Kind Regards,
      The Big Chief

        Hi Geronimo,

        For example this place:
        http://www.biltong.net.au/order.html

I've read good feedback on their jerky which is $59 per Kilo + $9.90 Shipping up to 3 Kgs.

Your jerky is $110 per Kilo regular price and even at 30% off only comes down to $77 + shipping… :\

Haven't tasted your jerky so I'm wondering if its worth the premium especially when it's regular price.. :\

        • +1

Here is another example of decent priced, good jerky - $70 for a kilo.

Jim's Jerky - A Toowoomba based company that makes great jerky (I've tasted both and believe this to be on par with Gerominmo)

You can also buy it from one of their stores or kiosks

Geronimo is good, but there is certainly a 'healthy mark up'

  • I finally received my jerky, from a sample request that seemed to be about 6 months ago.

Sample delivery isn't fast but it is tasty.

    Thanks

  • I got my free sample last week. Was exceptional jerky

  • just bought some for a friend coz im a nice guy. a freebie for me would be good :) haha

  • The postage seems to be pretty high on this deal
    $5 for 40grams of jerky

    • Hi Ben,

We try to pack the jerky well so it arrives to you intact and as fresh as when we get it out of the dehydrators.

Our 40gram bags along with all of the others are sent via Aust Post. Normally our cost to send a 40gram bag run from $.4.60 to $5.90+. so we thought 5 would cover all orders.

      Kind Regards,

      The Big Chief

  • I received my sample last week - tiny little piece but got damn it was tasty. I went and ordered some on the spot and now this?!? My timing sucks…

  • +1

I am yet to receive a sample but I am sucking it up and ordering some of this to see if it's worth all the fuss. Anyone tried the Flamin' Arrow? It sounds dangerous. Also, my user ID is 1407 incase anyone wants to throw in a free sample. cough

  • +2

i prefer those jerky from the Asian grocers more. Bakkwa jerky are just way taster then those imo.

    • Hello Creamsoda,

So you didnt like the taste of our Jerky?
What didnt you like about it-your feedback helps us improve our product.

      Kind Regards,

      The Big Chief

      • yeah some of them are just too salty. if i had to choose from your range the original taste the best which retains the beefy flavor. but its nothing like the Bakkwa jerky which enhances the beefy flavor through sweet seasonings and light brushing of sesame seed oil before baking. there are different types too the minced ones are particularly nice with their chewiness. they sell them freshly baked here so the flavor is extra fresh.

        • -3

In other words, needs more MSG lol..

          /joke

    • The asian one is actually pretty salty but you're meant to eat it with bread. Its more like a hotdog and considerably bigger and more filling. This is more finger food.

      • There are many types of jerky from Asia, not just 'asian'. Beef bakkwa is not comparable the real pork bakkwa anyway :).

      • i dont know about eating it with bread…maybe that's like viet type?

The ones that sells here are 12cm square pieces with different flavors. they also have pork jerky too which is much more sweeter, those are prob Chinese/Jap/Taiwan style jerky.

        • Its up to you i guess how you eat it but I personally find it too sweet/salty to have it by itself.

  • +5

I'm till awaiting me free sample too….

  • Just ordered some. Haven't tried jerky before, but I'm sure it won't be my last =)

  • Got my free sample last week, was very tasty, so tempting to order some!

  • Got to say, it's worth waiting for the sample before bagging the company. Got mine towards the start of the year and same day ordered a 200gm bag. Was gone pretty quickly.

    Gonna get some more today!

    Jon

    • I would wait but I think I have waited long enough??

      lol

I registered when they first advertised and still havent gotten it…..
thats been at least 5-6 months…

  • +1

    where's my free sample! i swear i registered before…

    • Please send an email out to [email protected]
and we will get some out to you…………………

  • i tried to order through the website using paypal, but it failed in the last step. :(

  • I love this jerky, and 30% off just makes it all that more tempting (although the last batch of buckshot was way too peppery couldnt eat it all, compared to the previous)

  • +1

Working my way (with help!) through my second kilo of jerky from these guys, can't get enough of it. :D

Might have to grab a top up and try the new flavours while they're cheap.

  • I dunno but I still haven't received the supposed sample from a long time ago now. Fair enough that you can't cope with the demand from OzBargain (we even shut down the Australian Post offer!) but I have reservations about "advertising" on OzBargain when you couldn't fulfil your side of the bargain.

    • Hi Tim,

Must be frustrating and I am sorry-
We promised 100 people who signed up first and then I extended it.
We have sent over 2000+samples now and can only say I am sorry if we missed you.
Did you sign up as a "friend of Geronimo?"

Please Please Please send me an email at [email protected] attn Big Chief "what happen to my ________ Jerky??? and I will get it sent out.

      Kind Regards,
      The Big Chief

  • Hey Chief,

Can you confirm you are using 100% Australian beef locally sourced?

    • Hello Quick,

Yes I can confirm we ONLY use 100% aussie beef :-)
and wouldnt have it any other way.

      Regards,

      The Big Chief

    jerks.

  • Just ordered the variety pack will find out what my favorite type before ordering bulk next time

  • Chief, I've asked this a few times in the past and never really got a straight answer.

I live near stafford, can we arrange a pickup/cash deal?

Surely you don't want to pay Paypal and delivery fees :)

    • I was told last year they are opening their shop in the new year… Not sure if they or not..I ended up making my own jerky :D

    • Hi Sam,

We have a stockist list now on our contact page.
If you go into there you will find a supplier (this is an online deal only)
and you will be able to go in their and save on postage..

      Also-

We will be in every state next month so you will be able to buy your Geronimo from your local store.

      details to come.

      • so is it the cost of your the jerky on your website without the postage?

And is there a big variety or just small packs of a certain flavour.

  • I believe personally that it should be a lot cheaper than the main stream competition, at least untill you get your foot in the beef jerky door. I am very tempted to purchase a small bag, but in my eyes its not worth the hassle of, a) spending $9 on something which could be a waste of money, b) going through the ordering process. It becomes more afforable (obviousuly)to buy in larger amounts; but again, whats happens if its not to my tatse. My suggestion….possibly waive the postage fee and do another round of free samples (mainly because i missed out last time :-( )

  • +1

jack it is $9 man. If I added up all the crap I have bought which I didn't need because of this site I am sure I could buy a small island of the coast of Queensland

    • Agreed, I didn't receive any sample but purchased the variety pack (cost $20+) to taste the product. It's the same as any other product in a supermarket - if you want to try it, then buy it!

  • +1

You've asked me for my address to send a sample so I can compare with the supermarket available, JackLinks (twice). Few months has passed but still nada nothing ….

btw: please don't ask me to send anymore email to [email protected] attn: hey big chef, where is my free sample, its my turn bla bla bla…. I don't want your cheap samples.

  • i received my sample about four weeks ago and I have ordered a small packet already. thanks

  • i'm trying to order one, but where to put my address in? can't find anywhere…

  • Big chief - what is the nutritional info (fat, saturated fat etc) per 100g for the various flavours? That is the only thing holding me back from placing an order :P

    • It has it on their website. Click "click to enlarge" under each photo.

  • Dried beef + Habanero = match made in heaven, order put in, Cheers

  • Just ordered my first sample bag….$28 I wasn't planning on parting with today….this site is an expensive habit!!

  • I just wanted to say, the poster girl is hot but you need to fix the dimensions, she's all squashed!

(also, ordered a sample pack ;)

  • Damn… Looks pretty good for you actually. Imma get in on this.

  • This is awesome jerky. Just buy some. Nuff said!

  • How are you guys buying this… I checkout via Paypal and it does nothing?

Ahh I've got it now. Hey what does this Jerky taste like is it hard/dry and chewy or is it like nobbys etc?

    • It's hard, dry thin strips :)

  • just bought the variety pack!!

  • +3

I'v been making my own Jerky lately- Get a cheap food dehydrator ($40-50) then all you have to do is buy the beef ($10-$15 a kilo). Slice up the beef and marinade overnight (in soy sauce and whatever spices you want). The next morning put the beef in the dehydrator for a few hours and done.

It might not taste quite as good as Geronimo's but it's much cheaper and tastes great.

    • ALDI had food dehydrators for $40 a few weeks ago, they may still have stock.

    • so you don't need to cook it first?

  • just ordered 1 flaming arrow chief, order #2492, please do not forget my sample as I've been waiting for 5 months now, cheers

  • I never received my sample from way back when which I was looking forward to and then forgot with time. I am a jerky fan, I'm also a chili freak so when I saw this new deal and the Flamin' Arrow claim to become the hottest in Australia I couldn't help myself. Just ordered a kilo to share with my chili lovin' friends to see if it hits the spot.

    • I bought a 200g pack of it a few weeks back, you won't be disappointed ;)

  • So close yo buying some just to compare it to mine I make my own.. mmmmm jerky…

  • I'm going to put in a order for a 200g Blazing Saddle later tonight - I was just wondering if could I get a sample of Flaming Arrow As well?

  • how long does usually take when you ordered till it get delivered?

    • Howdy,
Most of the time it takes 2-6 working days. You guys have had us working around the clock to get the orders out and you should have it out of the bag and in your mouth in no time :o)

  • nothing arrived in todays mail, (which means tomorrow or anytime after that) it's now the 3rd, and I ordered on the 24th, so not sure whats going on here…

    • From memory, the delivery took quite long for me as well. I think it was 7-8 working days.

      • AUS POST says it should only take 2-3 days for brisbane to melbourne for regular parcels.

        • I did create a forum post for this as deliveries can take a while especially if you want it before holidays or for an event. Iam sure they intend to have it to asap.

        • +2

          Hello All,

We have been working around the clock to fill all orders up to lastnight.
AUS POST specifically told me to put on our website 2-6 working days for delivery.

I can say we have been overwhelmed with Ozbargainers and your business and patience have been appreciated.

          Kind Regards,

          The Big Chief

          • @GeronimoJerky: Good that you've been overwhelmed, bad that it's now 6 working days and counting…

  • Just wondering if you email a confirmation after an item has been paid??? I made a purchase and havent received any information on the sale.

    • Im waiting on confirmation of my order as well. I paid via money transfer and have no idea whether theyve received the money or not.

      • Mine arrived without ever receiving a confirmation email.

    • Hi James,

I havent really had many people say they didnt get confirmation-

Only a couple and they said when they signed up they made up the email as they were just having a look around.

When you signed up did you provide your email or maybe a different one?

Anyways-have you tasted Geronimo Jerky yet?

      The Big Chief

      • i provided my real email address. i havent tasted it yet but am really excited because of all the reviews ive read. havent tasted any decent quality jerky as yet so im hoping geronimo does the trick

  • chief, was wondering when did you send my order ? order #2492 ?
ordered last thursday, haven't received it until now (friday).
I'm afraid if it's lost or something. thx

    • intercepted :)

    • pfft, you've got plenty of time to wait. I ordered the day this deal was announced, still waiting. ;)

  • it came today, 9 working days, or 14 actual days.

Flamin arrow is really hot, any more than 3 pieces and it's too hot to eat. Which is probably good because you can't eat the whole pack in one go, so this pack will last a while.
