On the cheaper end for the UE Boom 2. Deal is supposed to be for Click and Collect only, but it seems to work for delivery as well.

Just wanna say Bing Lee (Haymarket Sydney) is super responsive and fantastic with their click and collect. Bought a Fitbit last night at around 10pm with the code.. The item was available to pick up at 9:30 this morning.

Its staff wouldn't (couldn't?) match the price I could buy via Bing Lee's eBay store and then collect from the Haymarket store, though. I was after JBL Flip 3 in grey, and the best price I was offered in store yesterday for a cash sale was $118, when 15% off the ticketed price of $125 would be more than $10 cheaper than the in-store offer.

I ended up deciding, “Screw it,” and bought a black one from Dick Smith, for just under $90 if you factor in the Cashrewards rebate.

      • I think it's because the 15% off discount is sorta like a rebate from eBay.com.au themselves and not a Bing Lee sale. I'm sure eBay recoups this cost through its high seller fees though but I think that's why you couldn't just rock up to Bing Lee and demand 15% off.

        • Yes, but my point was that the staff in the Bing Lee Haymarket store didn't even say, “OK, Dick Smith is selling it for $109 before eBay's rebate, while our ticket price is $125, so the best I can do for you is $105 if you want to get one from us right now,” or some such. (N.B. Harvey Norman's list price for the JBL Flip 3 is $98, and has been for the last week or so.)

So, while it may be responsive in terms of making purchased items available for collection, with regard to bargain-hunting in the current spate of Christmas special deals, Bing Lee wouldn't be high on my list.

  • Thanks OP - good timing for Christmas.

  • How does this compare to say a Bose Soundlink Mini? Looking at getting either for Christmas.

    • Can't vouch for UE Boom but i love my Bose Soundlink Mini. Good Bass, solid feel and loud! If the Soundlink is within your size and budget, i'd spend the extra on that! I absolutely love my Soundlink Mini. You won't regret it, guarantee!

      • I have the Soundlink Mini, housemate has the UE Boom V1. The Bose leaves the Logi dead in the water in all regards in my opinion. Dat bass

    • Sound link mini is excellent but the boom is the tits!!!! Both excellent
