  • Could someone help me with a decision?

I have a Samsung LCD TV (Series 5) and its known to have jittery images when the MoviePlus function is enabled. I disabled that function, along with every other option (like Dynamic Contrast is Off, Edge Enhancement is off) to reduce the load on the TV. The movies (HD at 1080p) work without any problems but gaming (both on PS3 and Xbox 360) is jittery (Xbox games were installed to hard drive as well).

I bought my HDMI cables more than a year ago and I have no idea if they are 1.2 or 1.3.

I want to purchase these cables but unsure as to which one would minimise the jitter.
Would I need the premium cables that cost 16.50 or the one listed here (6.50) is fine? I don't mind spending the extra 10 dollars if I get less jitter.

    Any comments anyone?

    • Still having the issue mate? :)

What about if you try 50 Hz instead of 60?

      • Yo Stix. How do you change the fresh rate?

        • I switched off all enhancements. Digital NR off, HDMI Black Level Low. Movies Plus Off. Edge Enhancement Off. Dynamic Contrast Off. Black Adjust Off. The image quality is significantly lower than with these effects on but I still notice the jitter. Like when running past large crowds in Assassin's Creed 2. Or kick off time in Fifa 10.

        • Change the refresh in the display section of system settings on the 360. Try 50Hz but you may find most Australian games will require 60Hz before the game will fire up

  • My advice for you would be to buy one of these cables and see how you go.Its a good price and if youve still got issues then i suggest you go to the Whirlpool forums or similar to investigate further rather than here on Ozbargain.

Dealt with these guys before. Very professional and high quality cables.

  • Note that the full price (inc free postage) is $8.95.
Also I ordered one a week back and it still hasn't arrived.

Can you please email me the order details so I can follow it up for you. Most orders should arrive in 2-3 days or 5-7 days if multiple cables ordered at the same time.

Quick response. It was just a case of being lost in transit. Another is being sent again. Thanks Jamell Cables - great service!

MSY have 2mt HDMI cable for $5.00. I picked one up last week. Great price if you are near a MSY outlet!

    • rather pay the extra 1.50 instead of having to wait in the ridiculous lines at auburn

  • When is HDMI v1.4 going to be available for retail?

    • the only thing a v1.4 cable can do over a v1.3 cable is hdmi ethernet support, it's v1.4 itself that we're waiting for

  • Is this really a good price? Its only like $2 discount isn't it?

  • batteryshack.com.au are selling the 2m HDMI cable for $5.95 each (free shipping). I purchased these from them previously.

  • Both are equally good but Jamell looks a tard nicer.

  • $9.95 now?

  • Got my 2x2m HDMI cables today. Yahoo!! They came in 2 separate tough bags as they mention in their website. Not sure why the 2 cables couldn't be packed in one and save postage or does packing 2 cables into 1 bag makes them bulkier and increases postage?

    The cables look good.

Now I just need to get a FULL HD TV :).

  • Cool, just ordered now!

Only difference between the cheap and expensive cables is the ability to withstand constant bending etc. For most setups though, a cheap cable will do the trick.
