Hi guy's just wanted to get some advice on this HP-af108AU. http://www.dicksmith.com.au/hp-15-af108au-dsau-xc0365 My brother is hoping to get a new laptop for christmas and he has a list of demands regarding the color and specs. Anyway he is hoping to get a full size (new) laptop, that has windows 10 and isn't the boring old black color, I stumbled across this one on eBay and was hoping to get some advice regarding it's value for money and reliability. There seems to be a heap of old el cheapo (black) laptops at the $300-$400 price mark but when it comes to laptops with a silver or colored finish there's nothing for less than $500 :/ :/.

Hi Spackbace I think he's hoping to be able play some steam games but as long as he can watch YouTube clips and surf the net I think he'll be happy .
When you buy a cheap laptop there's a lot of compromises you have to make. Especially on build quality.
Aesthetics aside, what sort of spec does he need and how portable does the notebook have to be?
If he wants a silver notebook try this Lenovo from JB Hifi. The processor is a better version and is clocked faster.

Hi scrimshaw thanks for the advice, those jbhifi laptops look as though they could be suitable as well. With regard to portability and specs I think he'll be happy just to be able to watch YouTube and surf the net.
I guess more than anything else I just wanted to make sure this wasn't another over inflated DSE price and there wasn't anything else cheaper/better floating around. I probably should of snapped something up during eBay's recent 20% tech sale but I've put Christmas off to the last minute this year :[ .
