You will need to be a university student or staff, or have someone in the family who is either to take advantage of this deal.
For 20 bucks you will get about 9 months worth of subscription to the Sydney Morning Herald (university year starts next monday 26th Feb
and ends early december). Here is how it works.
Buy a SMH Tertiary card 2007 either online or at your university campus. The newspaper gets delivered to a campus outlet on weekdays for pick up and will be home delivered on weekends!
Even if you don't pick up the weekday papers on campus, it is still a good deal getting home delivered weekend papers.
Normally SMH weekend subscription would costs $3/wk and 7 day subscription $6.50/wk
SMH being part of the Fairfax company, I think they have a similar deal for The Age newspaper in Melbourne.

Sent the younger sibling to sign up for it yesterday at UNSW (since I'm no longer a student) and found out that The Australian is offering the same deal for ONLY $15. You get Sunday Telegraph instead on Sundays as the Australian does not have a Sunday version. Cannot find any references on their website so I'm not sure if it is only available at UNSW.
