Popped into Bayswater (Vic) Bunnings for masking tape, discovered Cabots Aquadeck Natural 4L reduced from $69.9 to $54.78, which was handy as re-oiling the deck is on my list of things to do over Christmas, so got a tin.
Apparently marked down due to a pricing error on 6L Aquadeck, so this seems to be some way of an apology (there was a note to this effect on the rack).
At least one pallet of Natural 4L (30+ tins), next to the Merbau (check label on the tin as they look the same!).

So which brand oil do you suggest for undercover deck which needs a makeover?
Well I have to re-oil mine now but I can't afford to use anything other than the cheapest oil available (I think Bunnings have a 4L tin for $20). My Deck is 8 meters by 4 meters in its biggest spot, I have a partial undercover area in addition to that and stairs down into the garden. Every inch of it is made from merbau, including the entire handrail assembly. So I have to oil every part of it, kind of regretting that now… but it looks good!
Typical bunnings visit: walk in with intent to buy $2 masking tape, walks out, less $200.
Plus a set of folding chairs and picnick blankets that wifey asked me to pick up for carols by candlelight tonight. Should have said I was off to uncle Dans and just got the usual hard stare!
Got a tin myself this afternoon while in Bunnies Oakleigh South. The sign said they couldn't get stock of the 6L that was in the catalogue for ~$80. I went there to get British Paints for $50.40, but decided to get the product I know works well. Was willing to risk a new product to save $20, but lucky days my fave was only a few dollars more.
One bummer is there was no trade discount with this "promo" price.
@Link, I've never had an issue with aquadeck, maybe you used it wrong or too thick. I agree it is not like a normal deck oil and a bit more like a very thin paint. But it lasts way longer than oil on my hard wood deck. One to two years compared to six months with oil. Plus the footprints are less visible a few days after a fresh coat. Never had flaking, just a few worn spots after two years.
Yep, I guess it depends on the location, and maybe size of your deck! Mine is not the biggest deck around but it is astheticly pleasing, and I last Aquadecked it 3 years ago, it is under cover and aside from the dog charging around it has fared really well. So looking forward to ticking one of the Christmas jobs off the list.

If you want to re-oil your deck, then this is DEFINITELY NOT the correct product to buy.
It's water based, and more like a paint than any oil-based finish.
Don't use Aquadeck unless you enjoy sanding it when it inevitably starts peeling as it behaves a bit like a lacquer. If your deck is by a pool you can probably justify its use, if not, best to stick to simple oils that you don't have to sand to get off!
Trust me, I have a big deck!
