Cordless Electric Screwdriver $15 (RRP $69.98) @ Dick Smith

30

Saw this on clearance in DSE in NZ. Was going to post this on ChoiceCheapies but couldn't find it in the NZ DSE website.

The following info was on the box.

Features:

  • 220RPM Single speed
  • Forward/reverse switch
  • 12 to 15 hours charge time
  • 12 torque adjustment settings
  • Internal NIMH battery powered
  • Includes 7 x 50mm driver bits

Couldn't find much else on it, and not sure whether it is the same one but reviews looked okay here:

  • Would of been great if pick up was available, lol not sure how reliable those reviews are.

Looks to be delivery only, making it $25.

Probably better off getting the $21 Wesco or $30 Ozito (with 29 accessories, LED worklight, and Metal gear box):

I'd get this $30 Ozito for the dock-style charger.

I'm pretty sure the Wesco just has a plug-in cable.

      • Nice…like the two-position rear handle too (and Ozito normally have a 3 year warranty from memory?).

      • I have this and it is incredibly handy.

$15 C&C is a good deal, $25 delivered isn't such a good deal. Think I'll pass on this one.

    • I picked mine up in store. May be worth calling and checking if your local store has stock if you're super keen.

Nikel battery? Not worth more than $5.

  • Just letting you know that review is of a different older model.

  • I noticed this in the Perth CBD store when I was in there and picked one up - not sure how good it is tho have just wanted a cheap handy cordless for a bit. There were about 18 of them left yesterday. Doesnt feel like a great deal to be honest but its reasonable. Chinese cheapies shops will likely have something similarly bad cheaper. Has Torque settings which some dont have. Ozito better but double the price - better battery, charger stand.
