Day 4 was meant to be a portable BT sound bar but was replaced by this instead. Great reviews. Free delivery on both items.

Don't forget cash rewards

Edit: Looks like Sony has fixed the link back to the BT sound bar but kept the old link active

Im still seeing the BT speaker SRSX33B $169 from the christmas deals page
    http://www.sony.com.au/product/srs-x33?cid=LP12Days

And when I check Day5's TV, I'm getting the sound plate you've linked instead.

    • When I checked around 10 today they had the BT speaker, they then changed it to the sound bar and now back to the BT speaker with free travel bag.
Hmmm, looks like Sony has fixed it but still kept the sound bar link active

  • THANKS!

I've been looking at this sound plate for ages… waiting for a deal!

  • I was able to add both items to the cart
    Can anyone confirm purchase success?

  • Read the title and it looks like delivery is $799 lol

  • Arrggghhhh! To get this or wait for Day 10's deal.

    • +1

      totally different level imo.
This one sounds better whilst the other one is an older sound bar with external sub.

I was considering the Day 10 sound bar as well, but it looks like an entry model hardly worth the price tag. It'd want to be a big discount.

  • will the sony store price match,,, dont want to deal with DHL just like the TV deal took 2 weeks to deliver

    • applies online and in store if you check T&C

  • Thanks OP - Great Deal - especially with the free shipping!! Hopefully arrives before Christmas!

    • I bought the headphones from 2 days ago, and they've already been delivered, so you should be safe.

Brilliant Deal on the HT-XT3, OP. Bought one. Was about to pull trigger on the Sony HT-CT780 but the XT3 seems to get amazing reviews and has a few more features - even if it is a bit uglier than a soundbar. Listened to HT-CT780 in JB and it gave that great full blown cinema sound but felt like the mids were lacking a bit, i.e. the sound was a touch vague. It was a bit laid back and boomy for me.
For those wondering about shipping, mine says due 11th dec, but confirmation email says it should arrive within 7 business days.

  • I have the HT-XT1 Soundplate and it's brilliant. Looking at the specs for the XT3 there's no real reason to upgrade, but all the same they're a really convenient alternative to a proper soundbar.
Edit: Actually it looks like the XT3 misses out on the Optical Input that the XT1 has. So it wouldn't suit my setup anyway. :P

    • +1

according to the specs, this has 1 optical input

      Function Bluetooth, Screen mirroring, HDMI1, HDMI2, HDMI3, TV(Opt/HDMI ARC), AUDIO(Analog), USB

      • +1

Ah ok, I was looking on the official Sony Website and under the inputs bit it isn't listed. Good to know though. :)

  • Went to Myer in Melb CBD to test it out. Very very impressed. Wouldnt price though :(
Gonna grab one of these and replace my ageing Yamaha system.

For people close to a Sony shop, I just called a Sony shop and they can do $10 off. I have put one away for myself.

  • Thanks op, just bought one. Considering ordering another for second living area.

Here are some reviews for those interested: http://www.amazon.co.uk/product-reviews/B00U1DW76Q/ref=cm_cr…

  • What an excellent deal for HT-XT3. Thanks OP, bought one.

  • really tempted on the HT-XT3, does legit have optical in? can't seem to confirm this….

    • pretty sure you can call up a sony store locally and ask if they have one?

      • checked the manual and seems like it does.

    • Looks like it through the specs

      TV(Opt/HDMI ARC)
      - Optical
      - HDMI Audio Return Cable

      http://download.sony-asia.com/consumer/IM/4558563721.pdf - confirmed

      • yeh sweet, buried in there :)

  • slightly disappointed in the SRS-X33B price. has been much lower before and considering the previous model has been down around $70… $99 would have been nice.

  • Bugga, perth store is out, but can back order at special price and pick up from store when in. save messing around with DHL

  • Thanks OP, finally found a decent sound bar to fit inside my cabinet. Almost pulled the trigger on the Sony HT-CT780 JB deal earlier this week, but it was too wide by 15mm.

  • Any opinions on this vs ony HTCT780?
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/222915

  • Just called the Perth store and strictly said they will not honour the sale price, guys that work at Sony are arrogant a,holes!! Customer service is crap

  • Anybody know whether the HTXT3 can be used with exisiting speakers in a home theatre setup?

    • I don't think so. Since it seems to have the same inputs/outputs as the XT1 I own the only output connection it has is HDMI. So there's no analogue connectors to run to another amp or to speakers. It does have an analogue 3.5mm input though, so maybe there's a way to work with that. But this is designed specifically as a basic replacement for both a receiver and speakers, rather than something that compliments an existing HT setup.

      • So how is this compared to a regular 5.1 setup? What about this for use with a PC?

  • Got 1 at chatswood sony kiosk for $389. There's one left. Speak with Alex, he will price match, screenshot the ad and ask to join sony club member to get the $10

Receipt for all others not in Sydney.

      How's the sound quality?

      • treble very good - 3 settings for voice
        mid quite balanced
        bass is crisp

        overall 8/10

would pay for $400 but not $800

you can download the SongPal app and BT audio spotify/pandora music
        network features and screen share

        space saver

  • Bought one too! This will relegate my other Sony model to the bedroom now. Thanks for linking!

  • I just purchased one as well. Don't really need another sound bar, but it was a good price so will get rid of one of my older ones.

  • just took delivery of mine. pretty quick, lookin forward to pluggin this badboy in!

    • Do tell us your reviews :)

    • how heavy is it? in my rush to order one of these, I got it sent to work… not particularly keen to haul it home on the train if it's super heavy!

      • +1

its quite a large box, but handled. feels about 7-8 kg, I wouldn't want to be lugging it any more than a kilometer or anything…

        • Thanks!

Looks like I'll be driving in…

  • +3

Ordered and paid for this as soon as I saw it. Unfortunately it is being delivered by DHL. WARNING - DHL will not deliver to you if you are not there. They do not take the delivery to the post office, nor do they have an arrangement with a newsagency. I get stuff via most carriers and they all take it to the post office or news agency - EXCEPT DHL. I work during the day and the depot is an hours drive away.
I rang Sony and they told me it was a DHL thing and they could not help. I had to cancel the order because nobody would help me out. So dissapointed with both parties that they could not work out a way to get the goods to me.

  • I've received my delivery today. Will test it out tonight.

  • +1

The sound quality is excellent, even better than this 5.1 channel home theatre I had before.

  • Hey wait, so just to confirm, was the pricing on the HTXT3 a mistake by Sony?

    • I have a feeling it was.

  • +1

this deal is on again - same link as originally posted
    https://www.sony.com.au/product/showproduct.action?product=h…

it isn't showing on the 12 days main page but the price is again discounted to $399.

  • Took the plunge (OzBargain style) and bought it. Although, I have a perfectly good 7.1 system ( actually, bloody good). The little HTXT3 will go to the bedroom. Final price 369.00 with the eCoupon. Thanks OP!

    • Received it today, which IMHO is pretty fast. Very easy to set up- fun to cast your mobile phone and laptop, and listening to audio via bluetooth. Sound quality is surprisingly good for a small unit. Would say 70% of the quality at 7% of the cost= bargain!

  • Good call, one of the best purchases I've made this year. Stoked on mine after 2 or so weeks now, sounds great and the features are awesome.
