Omega Altise OP40R Remote Control Pedestal Fan $15 in store or $11.95 Shipping @ Dick Smith

170

Great price for this fan.

It has a remote control that controls everything including oscillation.

I bought it from Dick Smith a few days ago for $51.95 with $10 discount. However will be cancelling that since i placed my order for this one.

Cheers.

Edit: Went instore to Dick Smith and found it there for $15. Wish i checked in store before buying it online and paying the shipping.

    Reviews look good, purchased it.

  • No click and collect…bah~~~~

    • Yeah i know but still a good price. I tried cancelling my first order but can't since its about to be picked up. I will have to go in store and return it when i get it now.

  • Any idea if the electronic buttons emit very bright led lights? If yes it won't be good in the bedroom at night as it'll affect sleep in my case.

Edit: found my answer in productreview.com.au so this fan is not for me.

    • I'm not sure but i would assume it wouldn't be very bright. Just bright enough so you could see the status indicators. However, i have never owned one before.

    • There's one at Masters for a few dollars more (click and collect). No idea if it has bright lights. Probably made in the same Chinese factory.

You could always cover the lights

    • Put tape over the lights

I own this fan. It is great. I went down the Bunnings/Masters route but their options are super noisy compared to this. I have had this is the bedroom for a year now, and it is the quietest pedestal fan I have ever used. The round, flat base is much better than the cross stands that I seem to always step on.

The option to set a timer with the remote for a few hours, or turn it away from me remotely are the best features.

Niggles - the LED's are pretty bright. I covered them up with some black tape, but they are bright enough to subtly illuminate the whole control until. Having said that, the Bunnings one I returned was thermo-nuclear bright.

I wish it had more than 3 speeds like some fan's I have seen. A subtle breeze would be great for sleeping, but I just turn this one away from me. Thumbs up.

    • So just quietly, you're a fan?

I bought two from the ebay store for the 2.5% cash rewards and cheaper shipping for 2

  • My order has been shipped. That is pretty damn quick since the same fan i ordered on 1st December is "awaiting fulfilment".

  • Just noticed the fan is back in stock again.

    • Website link is a 404 and the ebay store says out of stock.

      • Yes have just updated the bargain. I think it expired recently as it was available a few days ago.
