TextExpander3 iOS App Price Drop Was $6.49 NOW $2.99

10

A handy little app that I picked up on sale last time. Saves input time on regularly used phrases.

Last time it was on Price Drop, it was only reduced for 2 days. So if you're interested, grab it today.

Description

Type faster on your iPhone®, iPad®, or iPod touch® in any App using the TextExpander keyboard. The keyboard enables custom abbreviations to expand into long snippets of text, such as addresses, URLs, email signatures, and form letters. You can even insert today's date automatically with the default abbreviation "ddate"!

Access all your TextExpander snippets while in Mail, Safari, anywhere!

How does that work? Make an abbreviation “eemail” and have it expand into “[email protected].”

Use advanced TextExpander snippets in over 60 apps with integrated support, including Byword, Dispatch, Drafts, Fantastical 2, Launch Center Pro, OmniFocus for iPhone, OmniOutliner for iPad, TaskAgent, and Tap Forms. See www.smilesoftware.com/apps for a complete list.

With advanced snippets you can even use fill-in-the-blanks to breeze through form letters.

If you use TextExpander on the Mac® you can sync your snippets via Dropbox or iCloud Drive, or share snippet groups with iPhones and iPads on the same Wi-Fi network.

So I can get it to type

    "How much is it normally?"

    With less keystrokes?

    Does it support BOLD fonts????

  • Good software. I lean heavily on the Mac app, pity it's so pricey. Both iOS and Mac OS have built-in autocomplete that you can customise but nowhere near as good or comprehensive.

  • The IOS version has a pretty bad rep. The keyboard is not really up to speed.
Despite this just bought it…cheers :-)

    • Just an update. Seems pretty good, the spell correction isn't anywhere near as good as std apple and I noticed I am making lots more mistakes. Still it's good to have full function of my textexpander from my mac.

As for giving me a neg on the previous comment….any constructive reason?? I'm just passing on feedback…it gets 2 1/2 stars out of 5. I love this app but have held off buying the ios version because of the feedback

        update

Ditched it, too many errors in spelling/correction. Takes me 3 times as long to type a message. I get peeved off with my std keyboard spellcheck but now realise it does a pretty bloody good job.

        • Thanks for the updates slipperypete

  • Cant you just add the custom shortcut into the iPhones auto-correct dictionary and then it pops up when you push space? I have a shortcut for @h which just puts my full email in after the spacebar is pushed.

  • yes you can,it syncs all of these as well if you have the osx version
What I realised is how much the iphone corrects mistakes and in reality gets them pretty good despite all my cursing at it.
Whilst the app has a lot of spelling corrections you can get, it still doesn't match the apple database….or maybe I've adapted to it well. I just found that I make tons of mistakes and they aren't being corrected as well as with the std keyboard.
May not be a problem for someone with better typing skill than me tho
