  • I'd go in store, there's heaps of fit bit bands on clearance way cheaper than that. Not sure on specs but worth a look first IMO

    • really?? i have been there today and the flex was at $116!!!!

Have a look on the list uploaded to the Thursday deal page, there is a link to a stores POS price change list. My Polar loop activity monitor black was $49.98 from Brandon Park VIC today.

        • My polar isn't a fitbit!

@Level380: Fitness Band, fit bit, workout band; what's the difference? The list is there and this deal is a not a bargain.

Red and tangerine fitbit flex are $50

    • They had heaps for $50-$80 in store. I was contemplating buying one but didn't really know what they were worth.

    T&C:
'Excludes Apple, Beats By Dre, Kindle, and Seagate branded products, Google Chromecast, Nexus Player, Fitbit Charge HR, Logitech UE Boom and UE Boom 2, Megaboom and Roll Products, GoPro Hero 4 Silver, Dyson..'

So has anyone been successful with the deal?

  • It worked for me.
Not the best price there has been but still not bad.

    • Yeah only seems to be working for the Charge HR Large but doesn't for the small

  • Slightly both on and off topic but on the topic of fitness trackers, my local DSE has these (healthy stock);

    Striiv Fusion $40
    Red Fitbit Flex $50 (confirmed)
    Polar Loop $50

What should i get? Never researched these so also want to make sure I can resell if I don't like it.

Main features i want in order of importance (consider garmin vivosmart perfect):

    Time/Date
VERY minimalistic design (what i like about vivosmart)
    Alarm
Move inactivity timer (1 hour reminds you to move)
    Smartphone bluetooth linking

thanks!!! Also tell me if someone knows if Vivosmart is on sale.

Pretty normal price. Not sure why this deal was voted up so fast.

All good deals are either bought by staffs / sold out / no stock, so people now are just scrapping the bottom of the barrel :P

So these aren't good deals? :

        Striiv Fusion $40
        Red Fitbit Flex $50 (confirmed)
        Polar Loop $50

        • Those ones are pretty good deals :) But not Fitbit Charge HR.

  • Won't work for me on the small size either unfortunately.

  • seems this extra25 code do not work for fitbit charge HR Plum Large

    • See a few posts above, Charge HR is excluded!

Don't understand why people buy these inaccurate things to track themselves inaccurately.

You already carry a cellphone presumably which can already measure many things with a similar degree of accuracy although it is missing the marketing informing you of it's invented associations with exercise of course. Presumably that's important.

I hate tracking my heart rate with my phone…

is there anyway to avoid seeing DIcksmith deals on this site? the staffs are rude, the company doesnt have a good reputation. I wonder how many people are actually getting a bargain deal from them since it's always end up out of stock after 30 minutes of posting. it's really annoyed seeing Dicksmith all the time on this site

    • +5

Yes you can :) Find the hide button above and tick "Hide deals from store Dick Smith Electronics (DSE)"

  • +5

I hope DSE survives, for competitions sake. Pricing has been inflated for too long and no customers have been coming their way. Now with all this market awareness (from these sales) and new stock on shelves they should begin offering competitive prices for wearables like this, and coming 2016 stock. Dick pricing all their items (even old models) at full RRP (or at huge premiums relative to others) for a long time has led to what's happened.

I always thought the general consensus was if you're serious about your training heart rate and all the chest straps are more accurate (Timex etc). Rather than these optical ones on your wrist.

Unless you want notifications el cheapo no screen Xiaomi bands come to mind.

    • The optical ones are definitely "good enough". I use a mio link bracelet for running which is a similar if not identical as I believe most of these devices licence the chip from mio.

I also have a Wahoo chest HR. It works well and has a much, much longer battery (many months) than the optical mio link bracelet (a few hours) but is nowhere near as comfortable. You also need the contacts to be wet so most people spit on them before using them.

  • I got the plum Fitbit HR large for $142 during their 5pm sale today.

If only I had known about this coupon…

  • Can anyone comment on what I've read around people getting sore wrists with this particular device? I'm keen to pull the trigger but there is loads of threads with people complaining and getting refunds.

  • I've had the Fitbit Charge HR Large for the past 4 months and wear it almost 24/7 only removing it to charge every 3-4 days. Charging only takes about 45-60 minutes though and you can order additional charging cables from e-bay for very cheap to have one at work and home.

I've not experienced any discomfort with wearing the band on my wrist at all and I'm a person who has experienced contact dermatitis in the past. Great tool that does motivate you to try and reach your step goal each day, and the heart rate monitor is great for estimating the calories you burn while exercising (I've used it walking to and from work, going for runs, playing tennis, playing indoor/outdoor soccer).

    • I've had the Fitbit Charge HR Large for the past 4 months and wear it almost 24/7 only removing it to charge every 3-4 days.

So you wear it in the shower?

  • This deal still works. It's $155 online but the code REWARD20 still removed $20 bringing it down to $135 when I got through to the PayPal screen. I'm collecting in store.
