I've been really enjoying these deals.

Yesterday I picked up a Olympus Em5 twin kit from DS kalgoorlie for $299.

And today I had a really pleasant experiance with the team at DS Innaloo. They were busy although took the time to find me in the store when they had found one of the ex demo nexus 7's after they had previously said they were out. It was the 32gb version for $99

    Also walked away with :
    - Phillips Sound bar $29
    - 2tb seagate harddrive $49
    - Rar sound stand + sub $26
    - omega altus tower fan $40
    - Jetpack rechargable power $5

    • +5

      That's a long drive for a camera!

      • +1

It helps to work in kalgoorlie for deals like this. Had a 60' lg for $600, although wouldnt have been able to take it on the plane!

        • Nicely done!

    • What's better out of the RAR & Philips?

      • So far they seem pretty even sound wise, although the Phillips probably wins out (only by a bit)
In my opinion the Phillips would also win on looks, however with my tv when placed infront it blocks the sensor for the remote.
The RAR fits snuggly underneath the tv stand and sounds pretty crisp.

At this point its probably a stale mate, going to have to spend a little bit more time before I choose one to go in the main room :)

        Hope that helps!

        • Thanks a lot mate :)
Also I grabbed the Olympus camera for $298 :D

    • If possible, could you please post (or send me) a picture of the receipt for the $49 hard drive? :)

  • Very lucky boy got an Xbox one today $299

  • Tab S, the display models are flashed with some sort of demo firmware and keeps going to demo mode.

    • Factory default set it again it will work. Mine is now perfect.

      • The factory reset option is greyed out.

    • Take it back, there is a special process to clear the software, a 13 digit and 4 digit password.

They may need to contact the Samsung rep, to get the password.

  • Bah am at DJs and they won't sell their demo iPad air

    • That's because the demo's are owned by Apple.

      • While this is true.
DSE are certainly selling Apple DEMO stock as I was able to secure a sealed unit.

  • Thanks heaps, for the Dick Smith heads up! Scored myself an Instax 300 Wide camera, today, for $47 at Northland (Vic). Yay, love my cameras! There were two, or three left (I couldn't see properly in the back of the cabinet) and they are in the cabinet, which has the Go Pros. You have to get a staff member to fish it out for you! Also saw Phone cases for $1 & $2 (got me a Samsung one), Apple Ipad Air cases for 50c to $2, Dick Smith glitter batteries, packs of 8 for $2. Asked about the t.v's, but the manager said the ones they may sell off are almost 2 years old. Hope this helps someone. Hunt around at Northland, sale items might not be obvious :)

    • any go pro accessories at the northland store?

      • I saw Go Pros but not sure on the accessories, sorry, I was too focused on the Instax bargains!

  • Wasn't really after much bit still disappointed by the one staff member DJs Brisbane City allocated to the whole department.

He didn't know about any unmarked prices, or at least wasn't divulging them t customers. Lots of laptops, a few ipads, Samsung tablets etc but he said none of them were any cheaper than their ticket price.

Only thing labelled clearance were routers, iPad cases, cables etc and some $400 sports/gps watch for $85.

TV section was a mess. 3 or 4 tvs on the floor with bubble wrap and a sold sign covering them. Poor one staff member having to handle all of that.

    • Same, I think the tv are for the salesman..

      • Same he told me Apple wasn't part of the sale, TVs are all gone.. That's what he said yesterday anyway

        • They have macbook pro hidden but she said it's the normal price.

        • @Jihawk:
Hi jihawk how do you know??

        • @Bargainboi: I saw and I asked ^^

    • It's a shambles at that store. There was one guy getting his head round all the TVs on the wall to try get a picture of the Barcode. He marched to the desk got a scan on it and took it straight away. They were visually stunned and annoyed they didn't ask I think! (Oh well it's probably had a lot of run time on that wall!).

I was shocked they has people on their first shifts in there too. Got talking to one young lad and he has no idea what was going on, didn't know anything was marked down just thought the price was the price! Managed to get myself a 32gb samsung tab s (didn't realise it was 32 till I walked out!) - last one in the display cabinet. Although I did ask the more experienced staff member if it had been out and used alot and he said it had remained in the glass cupboard. Although, theres a demo screen burned on in the background and the battery unchanged while I charge it so that's definately not true. Massively considering returning it!

Also a mention, I asked if they had much for themselves and they couldn't contain themselves so there's alot more in the back rooms than you think!…

      • If they think losing their job is worth it to get a few bargains good on them.

  • For northern beaches peeps, warringah mall ds there's still heaps,
    Phillips sound bar
    Solemate jabra 39
    Jabra solemate max

    I need an assistant :/

  • JBL charge Bluetooth wireless portable speaker for $39.60@ DSE Innaloo. Good deal?

  • Is the Logitech Ultimate worth it. In a store now contemplating

    • Yes.

      • Yes!

        • Sadly, I missed out on those.

Also missed out by 1 customer for 2 different Bose items. Very heartbroken T_T

        • @sky152:

There's some Bose speakers at DJ indoorpilly. Unsure on all prices but the sol 15 I think was $251

        • Cheers guys, got the last one. Box was covered in dust but at least it's new.

        • +1

          @butterbuts:

damn it! ~ wish I didn't have to work :(

    • Not on sale I don't think. Assuming its the ultimate one. Think the guy said $175 and he can do that everyday

      • Harmony Ultimate was listed as $478 (like anyone would pay that down to $100. Very happy and will more than likely gift for Christmas.

There was the Ultimate one as well, but think that's newer hence no decrease

        • Ultimate One is the same remote without the hub. The needy remote it's the Elite, which looks awesome

        • @bxpressiv:

Yeah hence the cheaper original price.

Got JuiceUp XL Emergency Power Bank 16000mAh in $20 yesterday. http://www.juiceup.com.au/16000mah-powerbank.html

    • I got mine earlier today.
Can you believe I bought a Cygnet one from JB for $37 and it was only 4400mAh?
Oh my god it was a bargain. The only bargain in there. The other bargain in the Broadmeadows (Vic) store was the Kindles and a lot of stuff I didn't want.

      • You can still return if it is available at Prahran store (dicksmith)

        • nah, I bought the Cygnett from JB, about 6 months ago.
But still, I feel massively ripped off regardless.

  • +1

Bought some toys today. Their RRPs are so silly that even 60% discount is still not really tempting. Anyway, it was quite amused seeing DSE staffs faking "wow" at checkout.

I saw pallets of wrapped big cartons in some stores. They are stocking, maybe elephants for Saturday :-)

    • Makes me pumped for Saturday. Can't wait

  • +2

I'm at Ds highpoint now. Don't bother to come or waste your time here. Staff here said no stock for whatever i asked.

    • +1

      happened to me yesterday :P

There's one pink note 3 in Adelaide DSE DJ as of 3pm when I last saw. For $315.

    • Good price but id you manly enough to use it

      • +1

Will match the pink collared up polo lol.

  • Just been to Perth DJ and the shop at Murray st, sales gals are both shop are friendly, grab both the display canon Hs 700 camera and samsung WB30f in further discount 10% and 20% respectively thanks to the young sale lady who are approachable n helpful, also grab a iPad mini 3 at price 276。 yes, like some ppl mentioned before , engaging a small talk with the DJ staffs and most of them are willing to help, and the gal at Murray st shop looked exhausted , well, hope she will be ok ! Good job dicks Staffs.and shame
    Of those who abused

    • Did they have a few iPads in stock?

      • That was the last one.

    • +4

Lying prick's. Asked for iPads yesterday and I was very polite. Obviously not polite enough.

      • Not sure if you are joking but to be fair they sell heaps of models for clearance stuff. I was after a macbook and they sold the 2013 model end of line, 2014 model and ex display models. Then there was 13 inch 11 inch 128gb 256gb etc. Obviously not everything was in stock but it was beyond ridiculous. Same for ipads they sold about 4 models plus different storage size/cellular and then ex display ones.

      • Well, No need to b a dick. guess that the day shift staff fed up and heard that there were only one staff on duty at DJ. I went on this afternoon, it was quiet and asked politely and showed my sympathy to the staff

      These two are amazing though.

    • which store?

    • +1

I am congratulating you and hating you at the same time……

    • How did you score so many good stuffs? Is it from multiple stores?

      • Only one store.

        • which one is it? Did you came first in the morning? I guess no UHD TV left by now.

  • +2

Just bought Nikon D5500 from Erina, literally was the last one in the country, couldn't believe they had one brand new left!

    • Wait, how much was it? Didn't see that on sale and the guy at my local said it showed up normal price to him…

      • $447 , when was that ? pretty sure the price at DJ market street and another DSE store was $447 yesterday, I saw it on their system as end of life or something

        • This was Wednesday, so might not be there any more but I'll go back and have a look - been wanting a dSLR to play around with for work stuff!

  • +1

Whoop! Wireless PS3 headphones for $1! Incredible!

    • Which one is this ? Do u have a recipt or pic

      • Canberra store. Was the last pair left. I took a pic though - not sure how to post but?

  • Our DS store had signs up saying "up to 60% off, up to 70% off" - but nothing saying which specific items were reduced by what amount!

  • +3

I was overall pretty happy with sales today.

9:05 - Knox City store, manager was clearly frustrated with the "hype" the sales created and was telling people there's hardly anything on sale "We're not closing down!" I left empty handed.

9:35 - Brandon Park, store had pretty much been cleared out however managed to get a Polar Loop Fitbit for $49.98 down from $106.25. No other worthwhile items.

10:10 - Eastland Ringwood, went to store to buy Phillips 2D shaver $69.00 down from $299.00. Also scored a Samsung 3D Bluray Twin Tuner 500GB PVR BDH8500 for $89.70 down from $599. Asked about iPod touch display models for $49.99, they had two showing in stock however they were "not available". Staff sent me to Lilydale showing 1 in stock.

11:00 - Lilydale, arrived in store and approached staff member to be told "I'll be straight up with you, I have the iPod out the back for myself. You can try another store". I didn't bother making a big deal of it but wasn't too pleased…He took a photo of the POS Inventory listing and I just went through and called each store in VIC. Mornington had a blue and also a white 32GB in stock, got both put on hold and went in the afternoon to purchase.

1:45 - Mornington - Went to counter straight away and paid/collected both iPod touches which were immaculate, no scratches etc looked like they hadn't even been out. Got a 32GB White and 32GB blue $49 each. Also picked up two charge cables at $2.

    2:30 - Rosebud - Picked up Sony DAB radio $47 XDR-S60DBP down from $199

    3:45 - Bayside/Frankston - Picked up another Philips Electric Shaver 2D for $69 down from $299.

All up pretty happy with today, most staff friendly but some were very clearly over the sales.

    • Are you serious?!? You went from Knox to Lilydale and to Mornington/Rosebud/Frankston… It's good that you got some good deal in return :)

      • I know haha, I was mostly keen for the iPods. By the time I was in Mornington with a mate we decided to go for a cruise down the coast to Rosebud with the weather being so good today. Was a fantastic drive along the coast early afternoon hardly any traffic. Annual leave certainly helps.. however this is why I wasn't too impressed with Lilydale. I took a gamble driving there, they didn't answer their phone though one was showing on the system. Never mind.

        • Driving a company car? :P

    • Are all iPod touch display models on sale? Saw a pink and blue one on display, please let me know if they're supposed to be $49, i think they're latest generation otherwise they wouldn't be on display.

  • +1

ACA is flogging Dick Smith right now along the eastern states… what a bogus sales pitch!

    • I know, they said "70% off everything" with a picture showing "up to 70% off".
