Hey Op, welcome aboard & nice spotting.
A tip you might like to add the price in title

Don't waste your time with craftright 'titanium' drills. They are terrible quality and don't last. Hopefully their screwdrivers aren't made of the same buttery material.

Agree, and can tell you the screwdrivers are not any better. Bought some of these a year ago and have pretty much chucked them all after the shafts just start spinning inside the rubber.

The last set of craftright I got the handle turns but not the screw…. Any idea if these are better?

    TPR Handles.

I have been working in Product development for a tool company for 15 years and the trend towards the TPR handles has been growing for a while and you see it on everything. TPR (thermoplastic rubber or resin) is a replacement for traditional rubber. The trouble is that if it is not made exactly under strict temperature controls it becomes stick and uncomfortable quite quickly and even if made well can break down over a short period of time, especially in hotter climates.

A good example is a no.2 Phillips screwdriver i have had for about 6 years now with a TPR handle i had to throw out on the weekend as the TPR was sticky and coming off on my hands. The older style acetate screwdriver handles tend to last a lot longer but are sometimes brittle and can break. My suggestion is to get a reasonable quality acetate handle screwdriver. I still have 2 of my fathers set dating back around 40 years.

I am trying to Push our company away from TPR and back to nontraditional timber handles on items like saws (from a renewable resource) and acetate or impact plastics on other tools.

    Hope this helps.

    • it certainly does! cheers for the tip.

Get crescent (or stanley) screwdrivers. Only ~$10 more, acetate handles and lifetime warranty. More than fine for around the house and hobby stuff

      Seconded.

      • Different coloured handles for flat head and philips.

      • Made to fit a spanner around the handle if you need extra torque

      • +1

I never realised the tops of the handle were for sockets! Makes sense now that I know, but if you needed that much torque it would surely break the handle?

Don't forget Masters are having 10% off with a coupon as well. It was posted a couple of days ago.

        • but if you needed that much torque it would surely break the handle?

You'll likely break the screw or screwdriver tip first.

But it's very useful if you can't position your arm optimally.

  • Had an older light Blue/Grey handle set of these for the last 5 years and although I have much higher quality tools I found having these at the end of my workbench extremely handy to reach for whenever required. Assuming these are the same I found the handles & shafts far more comfortable than my Sidchromes with their Acetate handles and square shafts and were excellent all-rounders. Didn't manage to wear the heads down either so the metal used isn't too bad… again, assuming these will be the same. Having the Jewellers Screwdrivers in the same stand is excellent too but I admit I've broken quite a few of mine (usually doing stupid things with) and I've lost some of the regular size drivers while working on various projects so I think I'll splurge and get myself one of these. Bargain for $15… assuming they're the same.

As all the rest have already commented - Craftright is Craftwrong. I bought this exact set for my tech bench for doing IT repairs, tinkering with parts etc (definitely NOT industrial requirements!). Wasn't long before the handle just spins on the shaft and you end up throwing it at something. The (ineffective) barb inside stops you from pulling out the shaft to glue it back in.

For the sake of a few more $, grab the Stanley sets. They're often cheaper in store than they are online.

    Highly recommend:

    Also handy for wall mounting:

    • I prefer Craftright is Shaftright

    • I have the 20 piece set and was going to recommend it too. It also has holes on the back if you wanted to wall mount it too. I think I paid ~$20 for mine a few years back on special at bunnings.

  • Craftright is pretty rubbish if you want to do do proper work with them, I have cracked a fair few of the heads on them, but are perfect light duties like opening the screws on battery compartments on kids toys etc. I keep some in the house for this sort of thing but keep them the hell out of my shed :-)

  • Just get a Stanley set, screwdrivers for life… (till you lose them.)

I decided to cheap out and get a Craftright bench vice… After I put holes in my new workshop table, mounted the vice and had it all looking schmick… The bench vice broke while I was tapping out a stuck mountain bike cassette.

THE BENCH VICE SNAPPED IN HALF.

    Piece of Shit Garbage.

  • ….speaking of piece of shit garbage that bunnings likes to flog

    ozito…..NEVER AGAIN!

    • "ozito…..NEVER AGAIN!"

Their new RED power tools are much, much better than their old GREY units. 5 year replacement warranty on the 18v stuff.

If you just need a one-off tool for something, they're better than many other low end store brands. And cheap - you basically get a tool+battery+charger for less than skin-only with other brands.

      • …several very bad experiences with their petrol driven saws & other garden tools. potentially very dangerous and a major pain in the ass when you need the tool and its knackered

so unfortunately never again for that brand….they almost lost me permanently as a customer who buys most of my hardware there over their initial very poor cs. resolved now so feel a little better…all i can say is keep all your bunn. receipts and back them up digitally if you can.
