  • What's the difference between Presto, Stan and Netflix? Which one is better for TV shows and Movies?

    • +4

The main differences between them is their exclusive content. E.g. Stan has iZombie, Presto has Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Netflix has Daredevil & Jessica Jones.
Netflix has been around the longest, so it has the most slick interface, and is integrated with the most things.
Also, Netflix doesn't count against your download limit on iiNet or Optus, and Presto doesn't count against Telstra.

There has been free trial code here and there. I am trying both Presto and Netflix.
My kid likes the Netflix. I like the Netflix.
Presto movie is relatively old on standard definition.

I get the idea Presto is going belly up soon. There are just so many Presto specials/deals/bundles ATM. Even the local (small) newspaper throws in Presto for free with a subscription

  • +1

Is it for new customers only? I haven't spotted this restriction on the landing page but may have missed it?

    • +1

Worked for me, previous trail used before.

    • Not working for active account. Have 7 days to go on my 6 month trial. And with paused account nowhere to enter promo code.

  • +1

my 6 months free presto from a previous ozbargain deal has run out…

so this deal is good timing..

I know they are adding HD content but i don't see the point in Presto with most of it being SD and no TV app.

  • Android TV app got added yesterday (but I have problems downloading and installing it).

Do they have any HD content yet? I thought it was all SD?

Can you stack this 2 month code on to an existing account once the free 6 month code has expired? Or do you need to make a new account?

Dunno, but it doesn't seem likely. If you try it let us know.

Has anyone tried the code TEL515TBV3 it was still working earlier this month and gives 6 months, I have an account so can't test it

    • +2

Just used your code for the 6 months and it worked! Thanks. Never had an account before, only thought I'd try it after I saw the Android TV app. I'll only use it if my internet is fast enough for HD.

Im rather annoyed at them myself they have still not created a proper apple tv app and say use airplay howver Airplay does NOT work with the new appletv it's been 5 weeks and they've done nothing about it, my free 6 month account is rapidly running out with little or no use :(

        • Just be patient, AndroidTV is over a year old now and it only just got an app. I'm sure tvos won't have to wait nearly as long…

I successfully added an additional 6 months free code to an existing 6 month free account a couple of weeks ago. I'd suggest anyone who has an existing account give it a try with some of the 6 month codes posted here.

    • +3

I just tried the code TEL515TBV3 someone had posted above and it's added 6 months to an existing account thanks. I have only just started watching Presto. I didn't use it for 6 months, only noticing it had expired when I saw a charge on my credit card bill. So thought I would get some value out of it for my $15. Now I can ignore Presto again and go back to Netflix.

      • Glad to hear it worked for you too :) Sorry you had to pay $15 :(

    • +1

Where do you put the code in on an existing (free) account? I can't see to find where to put it anywhere to stack!

      • +3

I think you can only do it when you're about to run out of "credit". For instance I can't now add another coupon but I was able to in the run up to my account being billed. So keep an eye out for coupons in the last month of your free period.

        • How long prior to a/c being billed were you able to add the coupon? And where did the coupon field show up?

        • @FowlParliament:
It was only a few days before being billed that I did it. The coupon field was available on the page that shows your subscription type.

        • @ndenham: Thanks!
