    no image stabilization :(

    • That's the only why it's cheap? then not too bad, buy a cheap tripod.

There is on the pentax version - they do it in the body :)

  • APO or non-APO?

    • non-APO

  • I paid $108.20 for Sigma 70-300mm (Canon mount) in June when Goodguys ebay had 20% off discount coupons. It was for a friend of mine so wouldn't know how's the photo quality.

Sadly no Sony E mount (A mount only) otherwise I'd snap one of these up. Good prices ($165) on the Sigma prime art lenses…. https://www.dirtcheapcameras.com.au/sigma-19mm-f-2-8-dn-art-… https://www.dirtcheapcameras.com.au/sigma-30mm-f-2-8-dn-art-…

    • I have a NEX 5R, can I ask why are those 2 lenses are so good (other than the obvious wide angle)? I have the powerzoom & 50-200mm lenses.

For the price, the image resolution is really good - generally better than the standard zooms. They also are relatively fast at f2.8 meaning you can use a faster shutter speed or lower ISO - potentially ending up with a better quality image compared with the standard zoom. The 19mm is a 28mm equivalent on a full frame, the 30mm is 45mm equivalent. The 19mm is good for landscapes or inside at parties, the 30mm is a good all round lens - would not use for full face portraits, but good for 3/4 or more. I'll put the zoom on the camera when I'm not sure what I might shoot, but if I know I'm going to be doing a lot of (say) outside shots with buildings or landscapes then I'll put the 19mm on. I don't have the 30mm, although am tempted. I do have the Sony 50mm f1.8 which is a little long on the aps-c camera but is a nice bit of glass and great for portraits.

  • Assuming AU Stock, I think the real gem is the ART lens rather than the 70-300.

    • All of our Sigma lenses are AU stock (supplied by C.R. Kennedy) & come with the 2 year warranty card

  • Any M43 lens deals?

    free pick up. So generous

  • Some really good prices here.

I've generally found that ebay store dcxpert has the cheapest prices for Sigma gear online, especially for Australian stock. It's understood that dcxpert is the retail arm for C.R. Kennedy. To my surprise some of the Dirt Cheap Cameras sale prices are cheaper than dcxpert.

After a previous bad experience with them, I'd gladly pay a bit more and shop elsewhere.

  • I bought one of these recently. It's a bit noisy and lacking some features, but for the price I'm very happy with it. Takes some nice pics. Macro feature is quite good too.
