  • The kit works out better at $1399 after Cash back and Cash rewards.

    • Isn't it more like $1699?

  • I had bought nikon d610 ex display from recent jb hifi deal. This one: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/220264#comment-3234335 .
It would cost me $1000 after cashback. The product has been shipped but not delivered yet.

But i would now like to order a brand new one from teds using the xmas ebay code which would come to ~1220 after cashback and discounts.

My question is .. Can jb hifi simply accept return of the d610 i ordered from them and refund the entire amount if i just open and check the ex display camera for shutter count ????

    • They are good with returns but might offer store credit only.

      • Usually I buy stuff online via ebay discounts + cashbacks.. And dont buy things worth $1300 quite often anyways.

I hope the product gets delivered tomorrow so that i can take it for returns and try my luck… And then order via teds since cxmas code expires tomorrow :-(

  • If you are keen to get the brand new camera , why even open ? Just return it . I am sure jb will accept returns .

    • Yes Holmes I wont open.. but i am concerned about whether I will be getting a complete refund..

  • Great camera.

Don't Buy,fixed, low-res rear LCD, mono sound, no wireless, Circa 2012 ISO performance & Expeed 3 - too slow.

    • What's your opinion on the Canon 6D?

      • If you don't have any lenses and are just getting into photography why don't you consider mirrorless? You don't have to go full frame just yet if you're not getting paid for your photos..

    • Too slow for today's standards but good enough for the price.. Is there any other nikon fx in this price range?

      • Well said.. Its a very good deal to get into full frames..

    • ISO sensor performance is still better than pretty much anything else short of much more expensive Nikons or A7R-II.

LCD resolution is 921,000 dots which is still fairly respectable.

Low res lcd.. Wireless.. Mono sound is not something that will affect picture quality.
Iso performance is still at par with/ better than d750 or d850 (ref dxomark). Std iso is limited to iso 6400 max and that is another matter.

Focusing speed is going to be a bit slow. Also, the focus points are all concentrated towards the center of the frame.D800 also had expeed 3. It is not always necessary to have the latest gen chips/processors.

I believe it is a very good camera for the price.

    • IQ is the same as any other full frame camera.

Just bought http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Canon-EOS-5D-Mark-III-24-105mm-/1… (Canon EOS 5D Mark III + 24-105mm) with final price of 3202$ (including shipping) (3% cashrewards, 20% ebay discount and 300$ cashback deal from Canon)

    Happy

    • Looking at that kit too but the cheaper 6D seems more appealing

      • Yes it does but I waited for the 5D Mark 111 for almost 3 yrs and I wanted the Mark 111

else I would have gone with Sony mirrorless A7 (complete different kit)

Excellent price for fx. Bought one, and also the 50mm1.8 from good guys. Will be selling dx kit, I've waited years for FX to be this affordable!
