Random Referral Credit COTD - How to Give Heads-up to Referrer

Sorry, if this is a noob question. This is the first time I use the random referral, to sign up to COTD and hence, both I and the referrer would have gotten $10.
However, my credit only lasts for a few days, and I imagine the same is true for the referrer (am I wrong?)
Hence, I thought it would be nice if the referrer gets a heads-up about this, so that the referrer can make use of the credit before it expires (if s/he wishes).

I noted the referrer parameter, but am not sure how to locate who is the referrer. Or does COTD actually informs the referrer?

Thanks for any advice.

I would assume the referrer would receive an email notification. At least that's how it works with Delivery Hero.

I received $10 referral credit yesterday with an expiry date 28/11/16 with no notification from COTD (only checked because of your post) thanks bluesky

    • You could be right. I cannot see very well, so I must have got it wrong. I did remember spotting november (assumed it was this november), went and used it up quickly. Then thought it would be a waste if the referrer did not get an opportunity to use it.

      Thank you for the clarification.

It would be nice if companies were to provide an email notification to referrers, like Delivery Hero does, per RyanMK comment

I don't know if you realise but the use of 'random referrals' on a third party website, such as OZbargain is not really the intended function that COTD provides or envisioned, with their referral program.

Your referral code is intended for you to give to someone you know, they sign up and you already know they signed up, hence COTD don't really need to inform you. COTD provides both of you with a benefit.

Since OZbargain facilitates such a function where you don't know if/when you might receive a random referral credit, it would be in your own interest to regularly check. It's really not that hard to check & since it lasts a year, if you missed the chance, I don't think COTD would care since you hadn't shopped there for a year..

If you go to buy something it's automatically deducted in the checkout.

Coin saver is correct, the referral credit lasts for a year (at least for the referrer. Are you sure the referee's credit only lasts a few days? That doesn't sound right).

    • Thanks, glad for the confirmation.
