I got a bunch for stocking fillers…

They are a little noisy but very effective and the oscillation is just cool….

USB 3 compatible too ;-)

    I tried one out.
It's really loud, like annoyingly loud.
    Returned it after 1o minutes.

yep, if it was worth my time to get my $2 back I would. Xiaomi fans can be had for a couple bucks and all you can hear is the air moving, I frequently have 2 running ~30cm from my ears and doesn't bother me

      • Where are the xiami ones from?

      • +1

Of course the 2 types of fans are designed for different uses.

As I understand, Xiaomi fans have no switch, only have 1 speed & do not have option to oscillate. They rely on the USB port for support / mounting. They are small & easily packed away. So are good for plugging into laptop or powerbank. But must be unplugged to turn off unless USB power is switched (as with some powerbank). Reviews do report noise / vibration issue on some units.

This 23cm tall fan is self supporting with plugged 1m cable, has 3 switches for choice of on/off, 2 speeds, & oscillate. And is available now at many Woolies, rather than waiting for delivery. Good for plugging into USB power pack, computer, plus the above, sited where you want on desktop etc. Others report it as quiet to operate - but there are some noisier units reported.

        Both have their uses.
I considered both & bought this deal's fan. Plus can easily return it - the box has a money back guarantee if not satisfied.

For my use (light air flow while I sleep, powered from multiple outlet USB charger beside my bed), I need a small switched fan that can easily be repositioned. So the Xiaomi Mini Detactable Flexible USB Fan is not suitable, but this oscillating 2 speed fan is great.

        • Well thank you very much for that.
I agree and i just checked the xiami fan which is total garbage compared to this one.
Will grab one on the way home

          @Hirolol:
They both have their use, & users seem happy with the Xiaomi USB Fan, so definitely not garbage. I'm still thinking about getting one. But if you want a fan with a switch etc…
Glad my summary was helpful. Hopefully your Woolies fan will be a quiet one.

  • Others reported $2 at some stores in original post.

I was very dubious about effectiveness of a USB fan, & a couple of reports it is noisy. Bought & happy with it running at night 60cm from my head - so quiet with good air flow for size.

If yours is noisy unit, swap for another. (Could take a USB power bank to store & find quietest one. But the first 1 I bought was great.)

  • I bought it when it was $5 and returned it after all my colleagues reported I'm causing noise pollution ;) Will try again to see if I'm lucky to get a quiet one if my local woolies stock it.

  • Well I bought 2 today.. I could use the 5volt round USB cable to charge my old aniol tablet @ 5 volt of course

I've also found a remote helicopter coxial also make great fans ^^

  • Now 50c! (@some stores)

Brisbane Carindale store had shelf price of $10 last night… But scanned at 50c.
    Still $2 nearby at Coorparoo.

Bought 3 - all quiet, but 1 was very quiet - little air output. Returned that one with receipt from my first fan at $5. Store had refilled shelf overnight.

  • Merged from Hub Desktop USB Fan - $2 @ Woolworths (was $25, save $23)

Hey, I know this was up a few days ago @ $5, but I just came out of woolies and grabbed a couple for only $2 each. Make some nice quick easy presents if you're like me and left it til the last minute! Still a stack on the shelf at my Wolli Creek store.

    *1m usb cable
    *Rotates
    *23 cm high

    • How quite is it?

      • +1

Just fired it up.. pretty noisy actually :/

        • Yeah I had one of these. Lots of noise and very little airflow. Gimmick.

get a xiaomi usb fan for 2 bucks, silent and great.

plug them into a big powerbank that you charge at work for free air at home :D

      • True ozb'r right there..

        • A true ozbargainer wouldn't have a home. They'd live at work for free aircon, hot and cold running water, electricity, potentially food depending on whether your colleagues can cook or not…

And the award for No. 1 TightArse goes to…

      • This was posted a couple of weeks ago and I got two.

    • Don't waste your time and energy. Bought and returned this when it was $5.00.can't feel the fan at all.

    • Dupe - same product, same store, same price $2 = same deal.
      [Now combined]

Bought at 50c at my local Woolies - all quiet units. Posted in previous deal.
