LIFX has their Black Friday Sale started now.

  • The new model Color 1000 U$59.99 each gets its first time discount (25%, apply blackfriday25) since release I suppose. However the B22 has no stock atm but the E27 is available.

  • The white 800 U$39.99 each has a minmum amount of 6 to apply the 25% off discount (blackfriday800s). Both E27 and B22 are available for order.

For those who want to make their home fancy during the Christmas.

Note: Harvey Norman also sells LIFX bulbs but they are older generation compare to the new Color 1000 that is on sale from LIFX. The later generation has managed to reduce the size of the bulb as well as bring the wattage down to 11W from 17W but produce similar brightness output.

          I'd assume they have an office here as they're sold at Harvey Norman etc, but the warehouse is in the US, or China.

          This is why a lot of us use 28 Degrees and similar, so we don't get hit by conversion fees.

          they are also in the states, but originaly from here, been to their offices here in melbourne, the one in the states was for, i think, have stronger presence there, or for some funding things.     The White 800 can change colour temp as well as brightness. This makes it superior to the Hue Lux white bulbs which are fixed at 2700k.

    Furthermore the Hue Lux bulbs aren't available here and the 3-bulb colour starter kit has actually gone UP in price despite being many years old.

    I got sick of waiting for Hue Lux and went for several of the LIFX White 800. Very happy with my purchase.

      On the other hand… Everyday price of Philips Hue White is lower (including shipping from overseas).

        Hue Lux are USD $19.97 + shipping plus you need to buy a Bridge which is USD $60 + shipping.

        5 x LIFX White cost me USD $30 each with free shipping and don't need a Bridge.

        Also the Lux bulbs are 110V only. And they don't have adjustable colour temp.

          I am talking about new Philips Hue White (not Lux). Lux is an older model.
          I bought 6 x Philips Hue White $33.65 AUD each shipping included ( !!! not $30 USD which is about $41 AUD now).
          I bought them from Europe. So they are 240 V.
          I didn't buy a bridge - I got one free with other bulbs before. :)

          I think this is a classic case of "your mileage may vary" :)

          New LIFX is brighter but still more … directional compared to Hue.
          LIFX temperature adjustment is nice.

          But I still love Hue Color (they are normally cheaper than LIFX as well, I am sorry - I can do nothing about LIFX price). :)

          @SickDmith: Hadn't seen the Hue White bulbs before… interesting. You should post where you bought them as the price seems very good.

          Colour temp control on LIFX still makes them more versatile IMO.
