Xbox Live Games with Gold, Dec 2015: Thief (X1) | CastleStorm, Sacred 3, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising (360)

180

December Games with (XBL)gold.

For Xbox One:

For Xbox 360:

I think since November, Xbox 360 Games with gold have been compatible with the Xbox One. If you only have an Xbox 360, and not an Xbox One, you can Add the Xbox One games to your account anyway, to play if/when you get an Xbox One.

The games are permanently added to your account; you do not need to have XBL Gold to play games you added to your account from Games with gold.

  • why the remastered thief got so many bad reviews?

    • I bought it when it came out on the XB1, only because i completed it back in the PC days, and still is an awesome concept of a game.

    • Its one of the only games I have ever returned. Bought it in the morning, played an hours worth and returned it in the afternoon. Its just a bad game. I won't even bother to get it for free with this Games with Gold.

    • its an ok game but i didnt like it.
i think the 360 version was free a few months back.
bit of a con the way they keep giving u the x1 and 360 versions of games free like walking dead, asssasins creed black flag etc and pretending they are giving you 2 different games.

      • I have castlestorm on xbox one and thief on 360 for free a while back.

It is a con but it basically shows that Microsoft are drawing on a pretty barren well in an effort to find cheap shit for people to get for 'free'.

There just isnt enough cheap content to throw away and you want to keep 'good games' in the paid store as you dont want to give away the family jewels.

      • How is this a con?

Playing 360 BC edition v XBone versions will be substantially different in graphics, detail, etc. Kinda like buying a movie on VHS and then DVD and then Bluray - the same but different in their own ways.

  • Was contemplating grabbing Thief on sale a while back, but mediocre reviews & a backlog of games put me off. Glad I held off. :-)

Edit: "3 games" is pretty misleading - CastleStorm was already a GwG for XBOne back in May!! Same as they did with MGS Ground Zeroes for 360 & then XBOne.
Edit 2: … But then again, Thief was the same as well. :-s

  • The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing: Available from December 1-31

I'm guessing this is just number 1?

The final cut was only recently released for PC.

#1 is still a great game. But better to play them as a trilogy in the final cut edition.

  • Wish I hadn't bought Theif on X1 a few months ago. I had a decent level of fun, not a stellar game but I like the dark depression Aurora environment every now and than. It has potential but maybe not on Squares priority list for a sequel.

  • The games are permanently added to your account; you do not need to have XBL Gold to play games you added to your account from Games with gold.

Are you sure, I tried to play a couple the other day that I just downloaded and it said I needed an active subscription.
    This is on XB1.

    • Oh, thats weird. Ive played my previous GWG even when the subscription ran out …. But that was on my 360.

      • +1

360 games are yours to keep forever. They pulled back on this when they introduced XBone games, though - they are only "yours" as long as you have an active subscription to XBL. Just like the "free" games from PS+.

        So in summary:
        XB360 Games - yours forever.
XBone Games - yours while you have an active live sub.

        • Oh man, thats so sucky. That was the ONE advantage XBL gold had over PSN+ but ofcourse they had to nerf it -_-
