  • Whoa 1tb is finally hitting 200 ish.

  • +2

whoa…… getting lower and lower @_@

    • How low do you go ?

      • Should get even lower soon now that the new Samsung SSDs read at 2.2 gb/s. These could become obsolete once those take over.

        • +7

Apple, today, still sells "super fast" 1TB 5200rpm HDD's in their $2000 range. And their customers are ecstatic. So even if it does become obsolete it only requires an Apple badge.

        • +3

@Charity: Apple fans are an anomaly I still have trouble explaining.

        • @Saaaaaad: Apple makes 94% of world-wide smart phone profits! How nuts is that and with only under 20% smart phone market share.

        • +2

@malouphix: Which just goes to show how much profit is built into each unit, i.e. how overpriced their products are.

        • @Saaaaaad: Yeah, and how well paid their marketing department and designers are.

  • holy shit

Imagine this deal with parity ._.

Imagine this deal with rainbow pooping unicorns!

      About as likely.

I'm still mourning over the exchange rate

  • That is cheap!

  • If it wasn't for my $100 ebay voucher going towards an Aussie SSD, I would've grabbed this - decent price, even with our crappy AUD$

I wonder what the collective storage space of ozbargainers is… XD

    • +2

one of the best questions ever! I bet it is at least 1EB. we will be overtaking the Google storage capacity very soon…

Noticeable differences in speed when compared to slightly newer SSDs like Samsung 850 EVO 1TB (and even the BX100 from earlier today): http://ssd.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Samsung-850-Evo-1TB-vs-… (awesome site for comparing drives btw)

Still, this Sandisk price is probably too good to ignore..!

    • +1

It could be used as a "storage" SSD :P

farkkk too bad it's not the EXTREME PRO model.

  • 3GBs/dollar

Waiting for it to go down further…

  • How's the warranty like? Do I have to ship this item back to the US if it's defective?

    • -1

Yes, of course you have to ship it back to the US if it's defective. That's the risk you must be prepared to take for cheap initial price. It probably isn't going to be defective. But you should expect to pay for the return postage.

      • wrong, lodge it with sandisk direct, they will give you a address to ship it to.

its faster/quicker than going back via amazon etc.

    • Yes. I bought a kitchen container that Amazon only sold, it was about 300 grams. Arrived broken. Shipped it back to the US. Amazon paid $15 for shipping fee costs, but item cost me $36 to send back via Australia Post.

      • +1

Amazon give you back the return shipping anyways.

  • +2

ill wait for another 3 years for the strong aussie dollar and prices to fall,…

    2tb ssd for $199;-)

I entered in 'ARSE' as code, Amazon said 'ARSE' is not valid.

  • Oh, god. Eight minutes left to decide…

  • Goddamnit, came home and decided to buy this deal so I can upgrade an old macbook pro 2009, only to find it expired :( :( :(

  • If you have already paid the original Amazon pricing from earlier in the day/this morning
    … don't forget you can ask for a 'Price Change-Partial Refund' —-

Amazon will refund the price difference :)

  • Bit annoyed with Amazon. So I placed an order on 20th Nov for a 960gb sandisk. The money was debited straight away. After 2 days, the price dropped to $199.99. So I sent amazon an email asking if they could credit me the $20 since it hasn't shipped yet. They said, sure, no probs, email us again after it has shipped. So 5 after the order was placed, they finally ship it. So I chase them again, asking for a refund of $20. This time they send it through, however, they give it to me in the form of an amazon gift card.. Okay.. whatever.. I'm just glad I got $20 back, somehow. Anyway, after waiting 2 weeks, the tracking shows that there's no movement. So I log into amazon and see their tracking, and it shows that the item has been cancelled as it has been damaged in transit. It didn't even arrive at the shipping company. So again, I contact amazon and they say, sorry, we'll refund you. However, it was a $200 refund.

So now I'm stuck with a $200usd refund, and a $20 gift card that I really don't want..

    • you should have asked them to send you another one

      • It's now out of stock, I can't be bothered waiting ANOTHER 2 weeks since it should've been here by now, and I think i'd rather the money anyway..
