How scary are these movies? Haven't watched it before but my boyfriend likes it. To give you a gauge, I was terrified watching Final Destination and The Omen.
I've only seen the Alien films so can only comment on them. I don't think they're really horror, more sci-fi with the occasional suspense of not knowing when an Alien is going to pop up.
AVP2 is a bit gorey though. Wouldn't watch that one again but the rest are fine.
The Predator films are mainly action films, so you're fine there. I would say Alien (the first one) is definitely sci-fi horror, so you'll probably find that pretty creepy. Aliens is more of an action film.

Alien can be classified as horror. The rest…not so much. Aliens has tense moments in it, and Alien3, unfortunately, suffers from the fact that the method that the xenomorph appears is no longer fresh. Alien Resurrection is not a horror film, but a horrible film.
Predator films are not quite horror, but are indeed quite gory.
Skip Alien vs Predator. They are poorly done gornography trying to cash in on the IP which makes no plot sense whatsoever. Good for popcorn but fairly insulting to he two franchises.
Might be worth noting to those that haven't seen it, that while Alien is a horror film unlike most modern horror movies it's an incredibly slow burner. I love the Alien franchise and despite being born well after this movie came out, really enjoy it. A few people I know consider it too slow and boring for their taste.
Aliens (the second) is more action oriented and probably feels more modern. It's my personal favourite film actually of all time. I also don't mind Alien 3, but the timing of it's release in the early 90's means it has some pretty janky CGI effects (Jurassic Park level of effects this is not).

If you look up any film on the IMDB and look on the right hand side of the page it has quick links. Expand that and chose Alternate Versions. It lists the differences. Alternately use a website like DVDtalk and it's DVDSavant feature or dvdcompare.net for more info.
Great find - just the other day I was deciding whether to pay $9.99 to buy Aliens from Google Play. Guess I can get the whole series in high def for only a few dollars more!
Went into Frankston VIC store asked for it and there wasn't any left. FYI
Ended up picking up the Prometheus To Alien - The Evolution five movie collection instead for the same price. $27.98. Which includes the Alien Anthology for $20 + Prometheus $7.98 (available separately for same price). Works out better since you get all 5 movies in one cse instead of two.
Along with the Predators trilogy collection.
With Blu-Rays, I can now clearly see where is the 'Predator' hiding on the tree.
