USD for an Aussie store? Is it billed in Australia? Just wondering if I use an Aussie card if I'll be slugged for foreign transaction

    • Sacred Sound Audio is an Australian brand - based in Melbourne, however we mostly sell to the US market (USD is just more convenient for the majority of our customers). Unfortunately I'm unsure if you will be charged a foreign transaction fee, it shouldn't be more than $2 though.

      • OK so is the billing from an Aussie company with abn or billed from overseas.

I ordered a pair anyhow, but I had to use a different card. I prefer to use another rewards earning one though as opposed to the one I just use for over seas as I expect many here do.

Billed from an Aussie business with ABN.
Sorry to hear about the issues with the card!
Thanks for your order - all orders will most likely be shipped out before this weekend (or over the weekend) - aiming to arrive early next week.

        • @melb666:

Do they ship from Australia? Mine hasn't arrived yet. Order #1580.

  • How have these improved from the last pair which were $10? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/175171
Edit: Just curious, seems unlikely that these are worth $60

A hell of a lot of work was done to improve over our previous design! Check out the reviews above for more info.
The older ones discounted to $10 launched at an RRP of $24. The SSA PRO (currently on discount) started at $65USD.
To name a few differences, the new ones use: Ceramic Housing, 3 Button mic, MUCH better drivers, gold plated 45 degree jack.

  • Just ordered a pair - will see how we do… am replacing Sony XB4, do I don't expect it to sound anything similar but hopefully it will be decent enough!

Sacred Sound(ing) business name? Check. Sacred Sound(ing) username? Erh, not so much.

  • no PayPal no deal. Sorry. CC stolen too often.

    • I completely understand this - if it makes any difference our checkout is hosted on Shopify SSL, and payments through Stripe (https://stripe.com/au).

    • I'll speak to my manager and find out for you. Is there a chance you could please refer this enquiry to the contact form on our website?

      • yea sure. Ill get on it tomorrow. On my phone right now.

        • The earphones contain a 3 button mic/control unit - which is designed for usage with Apple devices. However, the middle button and microphone are compatible with most Android devices. The jack plug is a 45 degree gold plated 4 pin jack.

  • how come you stopped supporting PayPal?

also what is the level of quality control since they're made in china? do you visit china regularly to check? or mainly just communicate by email

also in the first edition from the previous deal, one of the comments quoted was the violin didn't sound quite right. but the website says the designers been playing violin for 8-9 years before the earphones came out, what went wrong?

    • PayPal froze the account on a number of occasions, mainly due to growth patterns in the business. Every time there was a strong month, PayPal would freeze the account.
These earphones retailed for about 8 months at $65USD, so expect the quality of an $80+ set of earbuds. Most earbuds are relatively fragile, we have made special emphasis on ensuring they are built as strong as possible (stronger enclosed connections around jack plug etc.)
Sacred Sound's brand philosophy revolves around focus on the product and sound, so there is very little packaging.
Not sure what the commenter meant by that (I guess everyone has their own opinions on music and sound) - however these ones sound beautiful for classical music, listening through them right now actually.

      • what's your opinion on the Xiaomi Pistons 2.0/3.0? or Brainwavz that are usually popular on here

        • I've personally only listened to the Xiaomi Piston 1s - which I didn't like at all. The bass was very muddy, with no overall clarity across the spectrum.
Can't comment on the 2s, 3s or Brainwavs unfortunately - although I do see them posted up here quite a bit.
Brainwavs in general seem to be well liked and recommended and I'm sure they make decent earphones.

        • @melb666: Yeah Piston 1s were okay. You should consider investing in the 2s/3s just to see what your competition is like. and it might even inspire you to improve your own earphones (if improvement is required)

they're very cheap and worth the money. I bet you've spent thousands on the testing/engineers/time into research etc. your website makes big claims, but I'm not sure if people on here are willing to buy from you or convinced when you haven't tried their favourite earphones? just some ideas to take into consideration.
