  • What makes this one a professional earphone??

    • sound quality + product features

(channeling jv) What's the Price normally?

    • usually $15.99 + $3.50 shipping, but recently we started offering free shipping.

  • Professional and possibly religious audio equipment designed by teenagers - just what I've always wanted.

    • hahaha we promise its not religious.

  • Want to see the review , however the link is broken…
Sorry, we can’t find the page you’re looking for…
    Error 404

Honestly, it seems no difference to any other similar ear bud available on eaby…

  • How come a product designed in Melbourne by two teenagers is better than a product designed in China by many adults?

    • :) Our customer reviews may be able to answer your question: http://imgur.com/a/RfMIJ

    • Some on the Internet (eg Gizmodo) suggest they were designed in China by many adults.

… They look strangely similar to these http: //www.alibaba.com/product-gs/…

From the comments in OP's deal last year: vival on 05/12/2013 - 09:50

I picked up a pair of these when the article was first published - I figured hey, if it's a scam then $20 isn't going to break the bank. Plus if they were average I was going to regift them for Christmas to a younger sibling, due to their likeness to a set of Beats.

Disclaimer: I've only tested them out on my Nexus 4 so far, but when I'm using my Sennheiser PX 200-II's on the same phone they sound fine.

In terms of sound, these things are pretty much what you'd expect from a $20-30 set of in ear buds. The audio from these things are fairly bassy but not very clear in the low end, there's also not a huge amount in the top end. Like, it sounds like it's just missing. Violin for example is missing the nice, high frequencies that really give it that classical charm.
I can imagine cello would sound half-decent through these things, but again the bass isn't anywhere as crisp as it could be.

All in all, there's nothing bad about these buds, but there's nothing really good either, including the price. So yes, the article pretty much bullcrap (not surprising, it is Gizmodo). I'll probably keep them for when I'm attempting to injure myself parkour, unless a good deal comes up on a set of over-ear earbuds.

      • gizmodo article came out pre-release, so people commenting did not know full details of release.

vival's review in the OzBargain comments seemed fair.

Also, your "30 days if unused" warranty won't stick. Customers are entitled to a warranty befitting your 'high-quality professional earphones engineered to perfection' claims.

fair question. i suspect answer is similar to why dyson/VHS were so successful, despite being inferior products. a lot of entrepreneurial success is about image, marketing and positioning.
whether these guys actually designed a new set or rebadged an existing cheap chinese one that they felt was good (ito audio range & basic build quality) might not matter. what matters is that two musicians have (hopefully) weeded through the cheap junk and found a potential gem. at $3.50 vs $10, i'm happy to pay them $6.50 for doing that work for me, esp since i don't have a musical ear. (probably like 80% of iphone and android users). thats the aussie value add to the efficient chinese manufacturing and shipping system. don't try beating the system but work with it to your advantage.

i would be interested in hearing responses here, from the toughest crowd to pull one over on.
would you buy the exact same looking $3.50 generic one from china or would you pay $10-$15 for one that has been endorsed by two budding musicians?
i'm a cheapskate but i've gone for the $10. might be different if we were talking $30 vs $100 but at $10, worth the endorsement. once they've sold 1,000,000 of these and started building a rep, perhaps their endorsement will be worth a lot more on some other "cheap" thing (who knows - no name dvd players, hifi systems, violins, keyboards, etc)

  • "Please note: due to new low price - warranty cannot be offered for the infinity one."

we edited this ages ago, must not have transferred: I can confirm there is a warranty - customers have 7 days to return their earphones for replacement or full refund if they are not satisfied (return shipping payed by buyer).
(see our return/exchange policy on ebay for more details)
      30 days if unused.

Hmm contemplating grabbing a pair for the heck of it.

  • I've taken a chance, young local guys and all that.

    • thanks for the support! We promise you won't be disappointed.

    Too many unless tags.

How does it compare with Ultimate Ears Personal Reference Monitors?

    • $2000 for a set of earphones is pricey. If you can afford the UE, try out the $10 set and email us your thoughts: [email protected] We'd love to hear :)

    It's now $15.99 and not $10 anymore…

    • fixed - eBay error, wrongly updates the price.

    Am I missing something? They're not $10, they're 15.99

    • fixed - $10 now

dont need headphones and my ear couldnt tell the diff between a $1 set and a $300. but its a good story (13 & 15 yr old musicians looking to create a good quality set with good sound range) and seem like a decent pair.
buying it as my contribution to aussie entrepreneurship. we can't compete head on with cheap stuff so this value add way is the way to go. bonus side effect that its still cheap :-)

    • thanks so much for the support!

  • Does anybody manage to find technical specs of these earphones? Things like their weight, cable length, frequency response, impedance, SPL.
