  • Possibly in the top 3 greatest songs ever. Don't need to d/l as I already have it, but voted it up anyway. Who are the 13% who gave it thumbs down??

    • Not everyone likes the same music that you do, stop being so shocked that some people don't like it.

      • why give it a negative vote, is it bad to get quality stuff for free these days?

        • that site is not ozbargain. its a free mp3 everyday. it asks "what do you think" thumbs up or thumbs down, if people don't like the song they will give a thumbs down. what's the point of having the poll on the site if they're not allowed to vote a thumbs down because they don't like it?

  • Even though it seems to have been disabled, you can still download it from:

I don't see how this is considered legal. It looks like someone has set up a site with a free MP3 everyday, and claims that "We here at VolumeVote work with musicians and labels to promote their artist's music.". If you read through their "Legal Info", nowhere does it say which artists they work with, nor does it say which labels.

TechCrunch reveals nothing about it. If there was a site that would have covered this site, it would be them. They've usually got their finger on the pulse when it comes to sites that challenge places like the RIAA.

Digg has very few articles about it. The most Digg's any of them has is 33. Hardly something a site like this would have gotten.

    Reddit has nothing at all.

Google searching reveals nothing apart from people linking to it and preaching free MP3s. A few links are from 2008, yet this is the first anyone's heard of it?

The domain is registered at GoDaddy and is hosted at DreamHost. A common mixture for a normal site.

The address on the domain, when looked at through Google Maps (Street View), is a home.

All the evidence points to the site illegally posting MP3s. This doesn't support artists in any way. Negative from me.

If anyone can find anything that points to it being legal, I'll be more than happy to reconsider my decision depending on what proof is found.

Wow great amount of research at first i thought , great bob marley download and listen at work i am glad i waited and read your post i wont be downloading either

  • The Marley estate is incredibly protective. I doubt this is legit.

  • It's no longer Bob Marley anyhow. It's now Alice In Chains.

  • While they have this (for what it's worth, which may not be much):

…the thing I find most suspicious is why they would give you the opportunity to upload an MP3 to "give others the opportunity to vote on it." lol

Having said that the RIAA make a living out of this, there are plenty of bigger fish out there and it's a pretty easy target if they have issues and want to shut it down in a flash.

  • I doubt it is legal either
