  • Great deal, thank you very much.

I picked one of these up a few weeks ago at full price.

seems pretty good, $12 is an absolute bargain

  • looks good -

is this one any better - 36 piece from craftright

    http://www.bunnings.com.au/craftright-36-piece-screwdriver-s…

    any thoughts??

    • +2

Craftright is the bargain bin line, Trojan is mid range

Both are cheap kits but will meet most DIYers needs. I'd have a look at both while in store and choose that way.
Disregard the saving the Trogan has and base it on what best suits.
Also don't forget Repco has 45% off tool kits this weekend so that might be worth a look.

Trojan come with a lifetime guarantee, whatever that means these days.

I bought the 177pce mechanics tool set years ago from them and it has been awesome when I need to pull out the tools to get something done. I've probably had it for 10 years and it's still good as new.

Thanks OP. Nothing like a cheap screw.

    • +3

i do like a slow comfortable screw myself, but unfortunately some people are void of humour and neg you for such comments …

      • +6

I prefer to nail things, I do it hard and fast to really get it in there.

      • +2

Comfortable? Trojan Magnums are one thing, but Bunnings has these at 48cm long.

You'd be hunting down a few deals like this to get anywhere near "comfortable"

    • Don't forget these

Still using the Stanley deal a few months back for $19 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/206185 and happy with it!

  • I really only have experience with Stanley screwdrivers, how do they compare? Anyone knows?

    • I only have the "yellow and green" set of Stanley, not the "yellow and black" set post a few months ago.

I am absolutely happy with them as they take whatever abuse that I gave.

Bought this set just because I do not want to bring around the same set between the house and the standalone workshop/garage.

The fiskars are a bargain. At $10 a steal.

Gotta love the description of the Trojan set.

“Used for driving screws or bolts with special slots, and sometimes for rotating other machine elements. ”

Good to know they are “Also suited for fastening and unfastening screws.”

“Ideal for home improvement, DIY, handyman and construction use” covers all bases

    • +1

But what can they really say in their product description?

'A great all round screw when you really need one.'
'With a premium handle, this is one mean Trojan screw'

      …I'll let myself out.

+1 for Fiskars, they make the best gardening tools

  • Does Bunnings have click and collect? As i don't want to go there and they don't have the stock.

    • Nah you have to ring them but it's in the Paper today so I'm sure they have stock

      • Ok then, thank you!

  • All large and Medium Fiskars Sold out at Bunnings Coburg VIC. These are gonna sell like hot cakes.

  • Tojan looks better than CR in person. Fiskars sold out everywhere I'm sure.

Picked up one of these fir $15 at chatswood. 4 left. Not sure if available elsewhere. Probably not the best but for the price hard to resist. See below

    • That was $15?

    • Cheaper than the blades….

  • Picked a set up today, thanks Trent!
A good range of sizes in there and while the rubber is not really premium it is great for the price.

  • Has anyone actually ever had a screwdriver break? And I imagine it would be pretty hard to strip the head of it (this is in regards to people arguing about warranty on screwdrivers).

    • +1

They rarely break unless you use it as a lever or hammer on the handle which probably isn't civered anyway. Shitty sdrivers jyst strip screws.

      • Speaking of which, I have a set of Stanley (yellow, green hard plastic ones) and abused them all the time - prying, chiseling and everything not limited to screwing. They are just unwilling to give up.

  • Thanks and bought. The Swivel-heads on the precision ones are not as smooth as Stanley.

  • thanks op. purchased. great find.

  • Bought a set on Thur from the Taren Point store, there were plenty on the shelf. For $12, can't really complain but it's not the quality as my Stanley set. But then again, the Stanley cost triple the price almost.

  • picked up a set this morning, thanks op :) saw one more on the shelf at Homebase
