AUD$17.08 delivered for 10,000mAh version probably better deal if you can wait until 2018 for delivery: Banggood

AUD$17.08 delivered for 10,000mAh version probably better deal

Not if you want ease of use and portability. The super slim 5000mAh version can fit behind phone in your pocket (even in tight jeans).

      • +1

and a super short usb cable

        • +3

don't forget to use a silicone cover or your phone might get scratched up

        • @smacko: could you point to somewhere the silicone cases are sold ?

        • @twitch1979:

i've bought them (Xiaomi branded other 3rd party) from banggood
can also get them from ebay, aliexpress etc

        • @twitch1979:

If you open the deal link and then scroll down the page, you will see "frequently bought together" section has listed a silicon and a microfiber sleeve to suit.

Note carefully that the Banggood cover listing says (in fine print) that it's NOT original:

          http://www.banggood.com/Silicone-Protective-Back-Cover-Case-…

The genuine Xiaomi sleeves are definitely better quality (and fit) than the clones that you can get from BuyInCoins, Ebay, etc. But it's hard to justify paying almost half the cost of the powerbank just to protect it LOL

        • @llama: thanks for that . Much appreciated .

    • Excuse my stupid, but why is the delivery for this one possibly slow?

      I already have a 5000, been wanting a 10000 :)

Are these safe? $14 doesn't sound like it's made a high spec

    • +4

Xiaomi ones are reliable and safe.

The parts that Xiaomi use on their powerbanks are reasonable ones (the components that they advertise are top class ones I think) and their safety mechanisms are good (at least so I've heard). Many teardowns by people show that the components on the safety mechanisms are good ones, as they were advertised. If Xiaomi power banks are unsafe, you would've heard it from Ozbargain at the very least (considering how popular it is in Ozbargain).

Fake Xiaomi power banks, on the other hand, are unsafe, but Banggood is one of the vendors that always pop ups in Ozbargain and I think they cell authentic Xiaomi power banks.

I think they cell authentic Xiaomi power banks.

I think I saw what you did there.

        • :P My brain must've got confused between two. I swear it wasn't intentional.

Though, a store name like banggood should probably attract more of these bad puns.

      • Thanks. It's good to know all questions get negged around here. Typical sheep bargain.

        • Eh, if it makes you feel better, I didn't neg you, I personally believe in no such thing as a silly question :P.

        • -1

          @Oversimplified:

I realise that by the fact you actually replied. Unlike the kiddie wannabe warriors running around burning up the 5 negs everyday.

        • +2

@Expon: Some people neg, some people reply, I think it's better to be less hostile towards one another (we are simply looking for a deal, after all).

I think it might've been people who thought you should've done your research, since Xiaomi deals do pop up like crazy. Well little bit less nowadays, but it was almost like eneloop at one point… Now I think about it, we don't get much eneloop deals either.

Anyways, eh people take different appraoches to negs.

  • No doubt a deal but after the whole gearbest fiasco i've been turned of all these companies…

With reviews like these they should be banned like gearbest: http://www.sitejabber.com/reviews/www.banggood.com

    • Ohh Gearbest is banned? I bought something from them like 2 months ago and haven't received it. Guessing I wasted $10.

      • You might still get it, just depends on if they actually sent it…

        • In fact, I ordered it mid July and it shipped mid August. Damn son.

        • @theguyrules: They weren't banned then, but nearly everyone who ordered in July and August did not receive their items.

        • @Clear:

They are banned, please check your information: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals/gearbest.com

        • @Unbreakable: Please read my post again.

          They weren't banned then

        • +1

          @Clear:

Clear noted! I apologize, my good sir..

        • @theguyrules: Start the paypal/credit card dispute early, is my recommendation…

        • @Unbreakable: Yeah just got the PayPal claim going now. Should I escalate it straight away, or wait for Gearbest to respond?
          Never done this before hah

        • i ordered something in sept from GB, should i be concerned about not having received it yet…

      • Nah - credit card charge back or paypal claim gets your moneyback easy.

The amount of people that have had good experiences won't even bother with a review. It's usually the people with bad experiences. Just look at productreview.com.au

Still waiting for my banggood order from 3 weeks ago. hope they come before Christmas!

  • Mushtato mentioned that they were going to put these units on sale soon.

Edit: Sorry it looks like it will be an add-on
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/217004

    • they were going to make a new separate promo soon for these 5000mah units
      so you were right =)

  • Too much procrastination!! May be I should read the free amazon kindle e-book first!

i bought 17$ drone from banggood, and that was a really good one.

this powerbank is most likely fake…..

    • +3

It has been said time and time again that Banggood is one of the only few online retailers that has been proven to sell authentic xiaomi products. All their catalogue of xiaomi products on the store are 100% genuine.

      • -2

oh i forgot this is a banggood post…ofc i will be voted down…..

i bought 2 powerbank and 1 both from mushtato and banggood, the one from banggood never even got delivered…..i have been online shopping for more than 6 years, this is the only one time that took place, coincidence?

whats more, how do you explain those threads that proved fake xiaomi powerbank that was purchased from banggood?

PSA: Use the coupon "XMAS06" to save an additional 6%

    • Thanks. Updated deal :) and decided to buy one - even though I already have a 10400 and 2x 10000mAh…

  • Ive got a theory.

I know I can't pack them into my checked luggage when flying.

Perhaps they can't be flown here at all; only via a ship.

Maybe that's why it takes so long.

    • I know I can't pack them into my checked luggage when flying.

They appear to be fine for 'carry-on' bag(s).

This 5000mAh model is perfect for travel, because of overall size, thinness, and weight.

  • bought 10 :)

    • bought 10 :)

I also purchased several - have enough ourselves, but good for gifts.

  • I bought the 10000mah from banggood 3 weeks ago and they came on monday registered post. Just posting a good experience with the site.

  • I bought the 5000mAh version and have tried using it a few times but I must be doing something wrong or the unit I received is performing below specs. After a full charge it can only provide 2200mAh to charge my Samsung S5 from almost empty (I use a metering device to count the mAh), and then the 5000mAh pack had only one light left of power. The next day it will not even charge my Samsung S5 so I believe the power pack only provided 2200mAh instead of 5000mAh or even 4000mAh assuming 80% efficiencies.

What are your experiences? Does only one recharge of a Samsung S5 sound correct? I would have expected 1.5 charges at least from the new unit. Remember the Samsung battery is 2800mAh from flat and my 5000mAh power pack would not be able to even complete one charge of the mobile.

    Your views would be appreciated.

    • Hey mate,
Just posting my personal experiences - with the Xiaomi power banks have been stellar. The 5000mah is slim and isn't bulky like the larger power banks and I haven't had issues with efficiency etc. I get probably >4000mah equivalent - definitely a full iPhone 6S charge and a bit leftover. I haven't done any precise calculations however.
Never received anything fake from Banggood - although I have received the wrong item before, which we've managed to work out with (albeit a lot of) communication.
If you're positive something's up, maybe contact them and see if you can organise a replacement. Or see if anyone else has an opinion - especially with similar devices etc.

      • Thanks ts13. I appreciate your reply.
