Great price for Ultra HD, but I'd be a little wary of Bauhn products from Aldi. I just purchased their latest wireless speaker systems (based on the premise that they worked with Airplay). After spending a good hour setting the speaker up, (it would not connect until I changed my router's channel down to a lower number), I got the thing streaming through the supplied app. Decent quality speaker when playing, decent price. Anyway, when I tried airplay (so I can use Apple music), it didn't work. I had to take the things back this morning (but got a no questions asked refund within 10 minutes). So I guess there is no financial risk, but there is a time penalty associated with this TV, if it doesn't live up to expectations.

    • Thx for the mini Aldi soundmax speaker review. I was seriously tempted to buy them myself as a cheap sonos alternative. Can you elaborate more on the sound quality and build of the speaker and its components as it might still be worthwhile…? But not being able to do AirPlay is a biggie for me too.

The build quality and sound quality is excellent, I got the $199 version and the $149 version. Once they are set up, they work really well, provided you use the included app. But despite saying they are airplay compatible (and your phone/computer will see them as airplay devices), they immediately drop the sound and the phone/computer drops back to playing out of its own speaker when you select them. Its a real pity, as aside from this, they are really good units. I just couldn't bare using some third party app which limits me to just the music on my phone and selected streaming services. (Also the spotify add on didn't work). The build quality is good, real metal, real weight, solid buttons, well finished.

$600 for a 48" 4K Monitor… Aldi has a no questions asked return policy aswell. Cant go wrong!!

      its not 4k…
      4096 x 2160 is 4K

        • +3

Technically it isn't 4K, rather it's Ultra HD. But no one really cares as the two terms are just interchangeable now.

How much is the saving from the normal price?

    • This is a special buy. There is no 'normal price.' Be sure to line up ay 8:30 AM too.

This "it's normal price" stuff is becoming tiresome.

If the 'normal price' of an item is considered cheap, then it's a bargain. If this was going for $100 as it's normal price, would you not consider it a bargain?

I currently have two 43inch and one 48inch Bauhn tvs from Aldi which i purchased 3 years ago

All in perfect working condition and I completely recommend this product. I use it for gaming PC as well as PS4 via 3 HDMI ports at the back, I cant remember the Hz it runs at sorry but no errors at all

My tip when purchasing this tv on release day (they stock 10-20 per store) is to go striaght to the cash register and pay for it first! They do not stock it anywhere on the floor rather you bring the receipt to the storeroom and they take the tv out to you on receipt identification

    happy buying :)

    • Pretty sure I saw them out on the floor this afternoon at my ALDI. Will need to double check though.

  • Bought one. -100 Hz? Can't say, the specs don't say nor does the advertising.
Fires up easily enough, appears to perform well, have to check out if the 2 USB inputs if they support DivX or Xvid.
Though I am a little disappointed that there was no headphone socket.
I have to find a way to get audio out to speakers and to external wireless headphones.
Can anyone suggest how to use the optical audio out, on a low budget as the internal speakers are limited and I am a tad deaf! lol

    These are the inputs:
    DTV, ATV, AV, Component,
    HDMI 1/2/3/4, USB 1/2

    Only one Output:
    Optical Audio out

  • The optical audio out socket requires a TOSLINK cable which will connect to an external device such as an amplifier, provided of course that the device has a TOSLINK input. If not, you can get a digital-to-analogue converter, such as the Jaycar AC1633 which has an optical TOSLINK input, and analogue outputs for standard RCA stereo L+R and also a headphone socket, listed for $99.95. A cheaper version, AC1631, without the headphone socket, costs $64.95. TOSLINK cables in various lengths are also available from Jaycar.

I bought this TV and so far am quite happy with it, except that the built in speakers are terrible. I also bought an AC1631 to connect the TV sound into my stereo amplifier, which only had analogue RCA inputs, and that worked well. Since then I have bought a new amplifier which has an optical input, so I can connect the TV directly, and that is even better. The sound quality from the TV is actually quite good, provided you don't use its own speakers. That's not the fault of this particular TV; modern slim line TVs just don't have the space or depth to accommodate decent speakers.
