iPhone cable MFI Certified? I've gone through plenty of non MFI certified ones which only end up lasting a month tops.

The items in that link don't specify that they're MFI certified, can you confirm that they are.

        • -3

It's OEM version, so we cannot show it's MFI certified. However, it should be the quality you are looking for, money back guarantee if found any problem within the warranty period.

Which means that it is not MFi certified.

@danilochan: Just pay the return postage and you'll happily be sent another one ;)

I bought a cable from Shopping Square and it was rubbish. I can't guarantee that this one is the same as the one I bought from Shopping Square (although it looks identical), but these days, I only touch MFI certified. My last batch of MFI certified cables were excellent.

I've come across several faults with shitty cables,
          1. The plastic at the end melts (ie. they are VERY dangerous and could burn your house down)
          2. The ends break (representing danger to anyone using them because of exposed live wires)
          3. They won't fast charge devices like iPads
          4. They sometimes dis/connect the phone to my computer repeatedly

          Caveat Emptor

Yup. If you cheat the post office a bit, you can send it back for 'only' $1.80 postage plus the cost of a small padded/bubble envelope.

Same here. I have wasted 100s of dollars on crap un-certified cables in the past. I started with MFi certified Belkin cables from the Dick Smith sale at $6 to $8 each (depending on colours). I will never go back to un-certified Lightning cables.

Exactly. Plus they just stop working after a short period and/or when a new iOS version is released and/or when a new model iPhone/iPad is released (Apple build in hardware detection/protection now).

@A3Australia: Picked up 5 Cables out of this deal back on the 1st: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/213600

So far so good, only one problem with one of the cables, the bit which goes into the iPhone snapped off so returned to OW and replaced with another.

The Comsol cables are very thick

Yeah, not a bad price for MFi Certified from a B&M store chain. I went to two stores that showed having stock on the website. However, there were none to be found in store.

          @Jemz: I posted that deal! :)

Mine's still going strong and it pumps juice into my iDevices like there's no tomorrow! :P

        Please try this link

The three cable in that page cost $6, $7, and $8 each. Plus "Delivery & Handling". Hardly a bargain.

Also, there is no MFi logo.

As none of the cables carry a brand logo, or name, on the Lightning connector I do not believe that they can be MFi certified.

    • I bought a few 1M from the eBay store months ago, so far no problem.

The Xiaomi 10,000mAh Power Bank is shipping from Hong Kong.

If one is going to wait for delivery from an overseas supplier, buyers might as well purchase from other ones that charge US$9.99 (around AU$14) to US$12 (less than AU$17) delivered. (Just yesterday I received two 5,000mAh Xiaomi Power Banks that cost me under AU$15 each delivered).

Apologies OP, because this store often has some genuine bargains. I am a repeat customer myself.

However, none of the items in this bargain post are actually bargains.

Three are rubbish cables that are a waste of money at any price.

The Xiaomi Power Bank can be purchased for less from other reliable overseas suppliers.

    • Where can I buy a 10000 mah Xiaomi powerbank for ~$17?

      • For AU$18 you can get the silver one from Bangood, but it takes 3 weeks or so to be delivered and no Aust support.

        • Oh cool thanks.
I'm ok with the wait time.

      • Where can I buy a 10000 mah Xiaomi powerbank for ~$17?

20 a day are available via the GetOne App for US$9.99 delivered. More are available at US$12.99 delivered.

        • Oh my, that's even better, thanks!

        • @hilariouspowerr:

Oh my, that's even better, thanks!

I recommend that you look for the super thin Xiaomi 5,000mAh Power Bank for US$9.99 There are only 20 pieces per day released at that price. The other listing for them will show an additional $3 for delivery.

It is a bit tricky. But you can buy at that price inc delivery.

You have to install the GetOne app from the Apple App Store or the Google Pkay Store.

    • No worry, I might arrange some deals on MFi certified cable later. Thanks for your opinions.

I have purchased a few Lightning Cables from Shopping Square and they are terrible. They work (sometimes) but more often than not they just do not work.

It's not worth the effort of sending them back to get a refund or replacement. They just went into the bin.

    • It's not worth the effort of sending them back to get a refund or replacement. They just went into the bin.

Yes, tell me about it - I was a fool and purchased dozens over the past few years. All tossed in the recycling bin now.

      • I don't want to derail or hijack this thread, but I found that these Lightning Cables (from Crazy on eBay) are really good. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/121216170413?_trksid=p2057872.m27…

I have purchased 20 of them now (can't have enough Lightning Cables around) and they work great. Have not had a dud one yet, and they are still going strong. Cheap too at just over $1 each.

I am not associated with them either (in case anyone was thinking it).

        • I bought 5 cables from Crazy, only 4 worked several months. However 1 more cable does not work under IOS 9, saying it is incompatble device. It is now in the bin.

Therefore I am now looking for MFI certified lightning cable, although I am not confident on MFI certification from unknown brand.
          Any good suggestion?

I purchased 10. Only 4 are still working. I know i should have claimed on their warranty, but….

You can check the brand/manufacturer's certification via the Apple website.

If $15 each is not too much for you to pay - there are two types available on Target's eBay store for $15 each after the current 25% Off.

Hmmm… I have not yet tested my remaining 4 'working' CRAZY cables on iOS 9.0.2 (I just updated).

        • I've bought about 5-6 CRAZY cables so far. Gave a couple to my parents and have recommended them to my workmates as well.

Truth be told, I've had 1 or 2 that have come up with the "This accessory may not be supported" message but they still charge ok.

They still work now that I've upgraded to iOS 9.1
