    How heavy

You do realise that many ppl open these up to remove the 3.5inch HDD inside and use it in a NAS or tower.. The most recent 5TB Harvey Norman deal i was lucky enough to open mine to find a RED version drive waiting for me.

As for weight, you dont buy this thing for how heavy it is… If your worried about that then go look for a portable version and pay more for it.

On this topic - does anyone have any idea what kind of HDD might be sitting inside this particular model?

Is there any way of finding out? Or is it simply a matter of potluck?

        • Good question. I forgot to ask the same.

Could be a red but good chance will be a green

got mine on sunday, unfortunately its a green

        • @joeydee:

Looking at buying one for my Xbox One.. What's the difference between red and green?

        • @cala90: Green drives will park on idle, and usually around 5200-5400

      • Only one so far (joeydee) and it's a Green.
        Any more?

Almost got excited.. I keep refreshing, hoping to see a ps4 compatible 2TB drive..

  • Any way to know if it is a green/red drive by looking at it without opening the case? ie. any hints on the box in the form of production/serial numbers?

  • thanks!!
