  • Fujitsu is the last manufacturer to make all their laptops in Japan. Everyone else (Toshiba, Sony, etc) has moved to China for all but the $3k+ premium laptop ranges.

  • Hi MLN

Is there an option to upgrade the RAM (say 4GB)?
    If yes - how much?
And will it void the factory warrenty?

    Cheers

    • With the 32 bit operating system there is no point upgrading to 4gb ram as windows 32 bit does not utilise more than 3gb.
You can take the unit to 4GB and it is a lot more expensive as both slots will need to be filled with 2 X 2GB ram modules for $65 each.
      I would recommend 3GB ram,
It will not void the warranty as MLN will be installing the Ram.

  • Thanks MLN - its actually 3.5GB (max for 32 Bit OS)
I've got a spare 64bit OS - so looking for dual channel 4GB ram (2X2GB)
    But $130 for 2X2GB is expensive…
    Anyways - Cheers

    • It is 3GB as shown on the PC in front of me.
Some machines can go up to 3.5 depending on components and setup.
This machine on offer will support 3GB ram under 32 bit.
I cannot comment on other operating machines,

when you apply for the win 7 upgrade, you have the choice of installing 32 bit or 64 bit windows, either way.

We do not use generic Ram modules and in order to not void the warranty this is the price for this RAM module. Generic Ram will void the Fujitsu warranty, and in order to save $10-$15 per module I would not recommend this.

  • MLN, can you comment on why the feedback form on the website never seems to allow my messages to go through. Can you also comment on why I was charged $95 for a single Transcend 2GB Ram stick when others where offering i for $50-$75?

    • Please refer to the original posting for the answers to your questions.
The upgrade offer is $65 as advertised here and on the MLN website and has been $65 since the promotion has started.
If you click on the link on the right hand side the upgrade offer is $65 as advertised.
If you are having trouble submitting enquiries online via the website, this could be due to security settings or other spam filters on your computer, you will also need to fill in the security question on the MLN online enquiry form before submitting your question or feedback.
Please call the West Melbourne store if you cannot send an email or submit the form.

Please direct all sales and delivery enquires to the MLN online or retail store directly, or to the store you made the purchase from.
