Ended up buying this last week to play to hype up before Fall Out 4 comes out.

The base games come a lot cheaper but the DLCs pretty much make the game complete.

Glad I stuck with it since it was an amazing game despite graphics being a bit old
I don't think that was the problem; I could play for a few hours but when I hit certain points it would just crash. I seem remember doing something with a .dll file so I might have even tried this, but it still crashed. Pretty poor choice by valve/steam to sell something that needs a third party ghetto update in order to run.
Had the exact same problem. I think it was after step 3-5 that it started running smoothly. Quite an old game though so unless they update it, this will do.

These used to go on sale for 75% off, but in the last few discounts its maxed at 66%. I think its been since just before Fallout 4 was announced IIRC

I could never get Fallout 3 to work properly with windows 7, it would just crash at certain points so after a little messing around I just gave up with it.
