Seemed like a good price at $529 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/213926, but now even cheaper.
Obviously trying to clear this model out. Might be time to jump on this.

NO..
i have checked them out in store.
i would have bought it straight away if they were wireless…:)
Wouldn't the new chromecast audio be able to upgrade this system to wireless?
Wireless speakers mean the speakers don't need wires to be connected to the receiver.
Hahaha I'm an idiot
Might be time to jump on this.
Be aware that isn't covered by the warranty…
What's he taking about? You can't sell…ohhhh. Juuuump. Hehehe.
@jv what do you mean by no warranty ?
Says it has 2 years warranty.
You totally missed the joke… :-)
Why neg the poor guy. Just because he didn't get the joke doesn't mean to neg him. Lol
Looks like I have :-)
I've had it for about a month now set up in a bedroom about 5m x 5m and it works well. Lacks a little in the mid range but can't complain for the money I paid. I thought the sub would lack in thump but for a room of that size it does the job above expectation. I also got the rear speakers up front and running it in virtual surround mode and I gotta say that it's not a bad feature at all. Very happy with purchase.
That'd be the negative with satellites, even the higher end ones will still be lacking in the mids. Having said that movies and games are where they'll always do their best which is what they are intended for.
Is the virtual surround mode largely inferior to placing the speakers at the back, or do you a close to real experience? Just worried about a mess with wires if in the room if I were to set this up
There is only real surround using speaker in their proper locations. Any effect that uses just front speakers is to use the technical term, crap. That said, the non "real" surround modes on amps are usually to spread a stereo (2 channel or sometimes mono) to the real speakers placed in the surround locations.
haha thanks for shedding some light
I've bought one - in-shop. It's a good deal and a decent piece of equipment.
Don't expect anything exceptional, though. It's what it is for the price; an entry level stereo. It's got volume, it's got bass. But not hi-fi.
You may also need to buy some extra cables; it does not include any hdmi, AV, or optical audio cables (understandable, just mentioning it so you can avoid an extra trip to the shops).
Edit:
Oh, you'll have to cut the speaker wires yourself. And the provided wires aren't what you'd call plenty; you might need some extra to connect the satellites, if they are positioned behind, and you need to lead the wire around the room (and the room is larger than about 4x5m).
Friends, bought the LG lhb755w from goodguys 20%off for $480 but any comments if this Yamaha unit is better ?
http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/lg-3d-blu-ray-home-theatre-sys…
I know this is a proper home theater with Amplifier but LG is a home theater.
LG is not known a music enthusiast brand; they're gaming/tv brand. So w/o listening I'd say the Yamaha will be better. But (at this low level, especially) anything can happen :) You need to listen in on both and decide for yourself (this is pretty much true for any sound equipment)

Are the speakers wireless?
