Telstra Pre-Paid 3G WiFi MF65 Modem + 2GB Data $15

The $30 prepaid Telstra (which will be selling for $10 next week) gives you 3GB Data. If you need a Wifi Modem, this deal works out better for an extra $5 with 1GB less.

Selling for same price @ Dick Smith and Officeworks, but stock levels may vary.

  • Why wait? Officeworks didn't put their price up after matching the Coles special a week or so back. Suspect the data on registration is 2GB despite saying 1GB, based on comments read elsewhere.

OK, see your edit after refreshing.

  • "$30 prepaid Telstra (which will be selling for $10 next week) gives you 3GB Data" I can't find this deal anywhere. Do you have a link?

    • I too would be interested in 3gb Telstra data for $10.

      • When you activate it, ask to activate it as a data sim or swap it for an iPad data sim @ your local telstra shop

  • Excuse my total ignorance regarding the Telstra Pre-Paid 3G Wi-Fi MF65 Modem.
But is this something that I could buy, insert into a laptop and have 3GB of internet?
Also, can you create a hotspot so other devices can use it?
What happens when the 3GB runs out, buy a new one or new sim?

This would seem ideal for when we go camping/caravan park etc.

    Thanks

    • Sure, works by WiFi, or USB tether. Option to Recharge data pass each 30d or can insert $15 or $10 Sim except for optus. (APN live.vodafone.com if w' VF)

Are you with freedom plus offer? This is best to send txt by CMe2U 1258888: transfer*04-UR-WFi-NUM*10 to the hotspot, and then back to the mobile, ensuring account internet stays cheapy topped up.

    • You don't actually get 3GB of data, it's 2GB (supposedly — package says 1GB).

3G refers to the mobile bands coverage (as opposed to 2G or 4G).

When credit expires, you can recharge with more credit.

      • Does anyone know if I put the SIM in my 4G tablet will provide 4G data?

        • Sim itself is compatible with each & every band across the Telstra network, at a retail level.

      • you get 2GB data with the modem (this modem is 3G only, no 4G LTE).
You can also purchase a $30 Telstra Starter Pack (SIM) for $10, which when activated as Mobile Broadband Data Pass plan will give you 3 GB.

  • The MF65 Modem's pretty interesting. Picked one up since I'll probably be moving soon and just need a little interenet for OZB while I'm in between. Haven't activated it yet but the Micro SD wifi share is pretty cool. I put a video file on a micro sd card and put it in turned it on. Login via the admin prompt and acess the SD card and I can succesfully play back video files stored on the sd card via wifi on my android tablet. Looks like a good way to store videos on the sd with out filling up my tablet or if I want to bring more.

Little worried about it only having 1GB included. Also they put a new sticker over the old sticker that had all the imei info and I'm guessing what used to say was 2GB included so not sure if it's 2GB or 1GB.
