TPG Migration Offers for Existing TPG Mobile Customers

Hey guys, I got my TPG Optus to Vodafone migration offer. Seems like these offers may vary between existing customers.

Old plan:
$19.99
$500 Includes international call and text
1GB Data
3G Network

New offer:
$19.99
$550 Includes international call and text
1GB Data
4G Network
2 months free - save $39.98

Current TPG new customer plan:
$19.99
$400 EXCLUDE international call and text
1.3GB Data
4G Network

Seems like a reasonable offer.

Great News! we also have the same TPG plan.

How did you get this offer?

PS - I guess TPG would have invited you already.
Fingers cross… Internal call allowance is a must for us

    • Same here. International call included is a must for me.
I haven't got any email or txt yet.

TPG will send you a text and an email, and the details are inside.

I was also worried that we won't get international inclusion. Good move for TPG to keep its customers.

  • i was at the same plan with internet bundle discount, so paid $16.99.
    no email offer yet.
im more incline towards 1.3gb internet, 1GB is already tight.

  • Just read the link. Grrr. I pay $22.99 per month and get 500mb of mobile data + $500 worth of calls.

Will wait for my offer. Vodafone doesn't give me better coverage at all. That's why I switched to TPG in the first place!

    • Just got my offer via email.

Happy that the monthly cost is less now.

    Super Value Plan Medium (New)

Changes to your TPG Mobile service email - prepayment still required and service barred if top up fails :(

    • That first link prices are discontinued

    • new sim card received: 1.5gb included data (not 1gb) - tpg vm4 mobile plan :)

      • Wait, so your email saying you have 1gb, but your actual sim plan received is 1.5gb?

  • but… if we don't do anything what happens??

    • I assume nothing, until later on when everyone will be forced to switch over.

      • so would i get to keep by bundle discount? and get 4g anyway? I'd lose out on the two months free I guess

  • Any ideas if the PAYG plans will be migrated as well? They are more expensive than aldimobile, so I think they should have the profitability margin to continue those.

The billing process is pretty much automated and they don't need to send paper bills or anything.

I wish they could bring it back as I would prefer to have some extra phones on the plans for my family and not have to worry about topping up.

    • Hmm.. I think TPG will want to be starting to rush the migration process.

Lots of new providers like Coles and Kogan are starting to come into the market and will probably corner users of the PAYG grandfathered plan.

If Coles/Kogan think it's profitable to keep low end users, then I can't see why it would hurt TPG shareholders.

    Initially was on:
    $17.99
$550 Includes international call and text
    1.5GB Data
    3G Network

    Subsequently migrated to (current plan):
    $19.99
$550 Includes international call and text
    1GB Data
    3G Network

    New offer:
    $19.99
$550 Includes international call and text
    1.5GB Data
    4G Network
    2 months free - save $39.98

so really, i'm just getting my original plan back, but on 4G for $2 more.

    • Hmm I'm wit grandfather plan $16.99 All same but one GB.. How you can get one and half?

  • fyi received via email:

Please be advised that we are paying for your whole month of service with the Optus network.

    that's this current month…

    anyone else?

    • I received my invitation today, my new offer has:
      $19.99/Month
$550 Includes local & international call and text
      1.5GB Data
      2 months free - save $39.98

But didn't get anything about the free month on Optus
Also they will be shipping the SIM… didn't even request me to verify my current address (like some others in above comments)

      • email was customer service response to query

  • What happens to our credit account balance if we move to Optus? No chance of getting it back? Just lose $20?

  • Love my offer don't have to worry at all about jumpingship.

    16.99 per month.(since I have tpg broadband)
$550 calls and text including international
    1.5GB
    And LTE.

Yes same like us. The only bad thing is the excess data charges, per MB not per 1gb block.
Still, pretty happy with the adsl discount, and international inclusion.
And don't forget two months free!

      • Oh yeah I forgot about the excess charge. I don't even use half my 1GB allowance at the moment so I'm good I think. But with LTE I'll definitely have to pay more attention to my usage now.

Two months free is pretty sweet as well.

        • I'm always at around 900 950 MB each month!

        • @erwinsie:

Living on the edge there my man!

After seeing that offer for $16.99, I'm definitely staying onboard with TPG. It's the exact same as the first TPG plan I was on before the price increase and call/data decrease.

    • Does the $10/gb for excess data apply? That would be perfect if it did!

note that unlike previous plan changes for existing customers, the new vodafone ones state:

    Mobile Prepayment Outside Included Value:
    All TPG services are prepaid.
If you do not use the prepayment, it will be forfeited to us when you cancel the service.

earlier variation notifications only included a critical information summary, which had no such terms or conditions

    past plan terms contained:

    Mobile Deposit:
TPG Mobile service is neither prepaid nor post paid.
Any unused Security Deposit will be refunded back to you once you cancel the service.

hence once on vodafone, any prepayment refund seems unlikely :(

  • same email here,

    16.99 per month.(since I have tpg broadband)
$550 calls and text including international
    1.5GB
    And LTE.

  • also waiting for them to send SIM

    • Have you received the sim yet? It has been 6 days since I was emailed to say they are sending the sim…

  • HI Everyone,

Yes we all got the email but has anyone already on this new offer to EXISTING PLAN CUSTOMER?

    please can someone confirm this?

    thank you

.bcasue someone I know already on this plan but with $19.99.

  • I got offered the 1.5gb data @ 16.99

    • so what happens if we don't do anything?

      • They'll still send you the pack and probably follow up why you haven't activated over duh. It's not like you can stay on Optus network when their switching their partnership with Vodafone.

    via https://www.tpg.com.au/mobile/callrates seems:

    • $1 payg -> vm18 (non-broadband customers) or vm21 (broadband customers)

    • $12.99 super value starter -> vm2
