Is this desktop a bargain?

Hi Ozbargainers,

I was looking for cheap desktops, and a mate offered to sell me his old pc for $500.. the specs are as follows

CPU: i5-4670
GPU: R9-270
HDD: WD Blue 1TB
Motherboard: AsRock Z87M
RAM: 8GB
Case: CM Scout Storm II

He's throwing in an AOC monitor and random peripherals..

You guys think its worth it? If not, how much is it worth?

    I'd try to haggle it down to $400 assuming it's in good condition. Does it include genuine Windows 7/8/10?

      Windows is worthless when it is effortless to pirate it. There is no distinction whatsoever between genuine Windows and a cracked version of Windows.

      Well, worthless or not, it does come with a genuine Windows 7, which seems good for me..

    That CPU sells new at MSY for $305

      The CPU can be bought for $272 new.

    I think that is pretty worth. But try and get some mate rates for it first! hahahha. If you purchase those parts brand new, plus monitor and "random peripherals", it's likely to be around 800-1000$
    The PC build should be able to do some pretty neat entry level gaming if thats what youre after. Other than that, it should last you for a few years. Maybe purchase a SSD in the future too for faster performance.

      Mate rates is hilarious. The parts are all about a year and a half old, and entry level gaming is exactly what I'm looking for. The SSD seems really tempting from all the deals I see here.
