Panasonic DECT Triple Pack $35.24 with $2 Item (Free C&C or Del +$7.95) @ Dick Smith

450
MEGA15

Seems like pretty good value for money, and at least 50% cheaper than anywhere else. Tried a number of postcodes around the country and there seems to be availability across a lot of stores, until DSE decides to pull them from the sale. Apply coupon MEGA15 at checkout after you've added any other item of at least $2 in value. Enjoy :)

Good price but no illuminated keypad though.

    • Who uses the phone in the dark anyway?

      • +6

Someone calling for an electrician when the power goes out at night?

(Note: this model doesn't have the 'Power Failure Talk System' so it doesn't work in blackouts. The twin-pack deal model does work when the power is out.)

        • lol…..cant help but laugh :)

      • teenage lovers… well ok this was back in the day
        they got smart phones now

  • Thanks, ordered one (added a HPM double power adaptor so I could use MEGA15 code).

No click and collect near me, but postage only $7.95 so still a good deal.

  • what frequency does this operate under ?

how does this compare to Panasonic KX-TG6822ALB mentioned in https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/214393 ?

    • Frequency is ~1.8-1.9ghz

Pretty sure it is basically the same as the one you mention, just with an extra handset

      • Whoops…. mr626
If you check the specs … you'll find they are very different.

        • +1

Meh, still fairly similar. Doesn't help that Panasonic's spec pages aren't consistent in how they format / display info, and there's no 'compare' option.

Looks like the dual handset one has a few extra features (as mentioned, can work without mains power). Ultimately they are fairly similar though- both are entry level handsets operating on the 1.8-1.9ghz range, and both have answering machines.

Both are DECT 6.0 too, which is what most people are after for avoiding wifi overlap.

      • Frequency:1.9 GHz
      • Frequency Range: 1.88 GHz - 1.90 GHz

This one doesn't work without mains power, the other one does.

I think you mean to compare with KX-TG6822ALB specs

        • Yeah, with all the spec pages open I must have boo-booed. Thanks for the catch.

The KX-TG6822ALB does have the 'works in a blackout' function.

  • What's MEGA15 do?

    • I'm assuming $15 off $50+, hence the $2 item to bump it over $50

  • Thanks for heads up, looked this morning and didn't even think to add a $2 item to get the discount…

Hopefully this will be alright, the other dual handset one gets horrendous reviews in terms of call quality; though maybe just a bad batch.

  • Not much stock at all in Melbourne and Sydney. Other capitals look ok though

Saw that just now. Believe me, there was quite a few around 2000 and 3000 when I checked before posting. DSE up to their usual tricks?

      • +1

        Possibly sold very quickly?

        • +1

Possibly yes, but I have my doubts :)

  • code has expired

Phone review is here and it ain't looking god.

    • There's a larger sample of reviews on Amazon which rates it 4.5/5 stars.

Ye, exactly what I was expecting. Plenty of stock across the country 10 minutes ago, and now magically all gone. Thanks again Dick Smith.

Someone from Dick Smith must frequent this site often.

    • Errr…they do. They even have a rep here. There have been several comments about this in the past.

  • Dick Smith stuffed up.

For the FIRST time there is a discount code WHILE they have discount prices. Picked up two items for a great saving.

Usually the discount code appears and prices literally DOUBLE.

    • Not the first time though, I bought a Harmony remote on sale, then of course the next day, discount codes and they were still on sale. (Wasn't happy about that one..)

  • Dang, I'm in the market for new phone system. Our Panasonic KX-TG6051AL is starting to fail. It has caller id and backlit buttons. Any recommendations?

  • +1

Got ours yesterday, setup last night. Works great, better range and much clearer than our old 5.8ghz system it has replaced. Easy to give handsets meaningful names for purposes of intercomm etc. Handsets take standard AAA batteries, so easy to replace if needed.
