BlackVue DR650GW-2ch + 16GB SD Card + Power Magic Pro $326.97 USD Delivered @ Massdrop

50

Probably one of the fully-featured dashcams on the market at the moment, with GPS and WiFi, as well as a second camera. It's since been superseded, but you really can't go wrong for the price, especially considering it includes the Power Magic Pro for hard installation which is normally around $50 on its own, and a 16GB Micro SD card.

Also has an option at checkout for the DR650GW-1ch for $50 less ($276.97), which is a single camera version of the above. The price comes down to $299 after 30 purchases.

Edit: As pointed out by jdr, prices are in USD. Works out to around $465, so not as good a deal, but still better than any local price I could find.

    Prices are in USD.

    • You're right! Fixed.

Very tempting for the price, saving a couple hundred on local stock, but Massdrop don't provide any sort of warranty on the item. I'd be keen to confirm if BlackVue will cover you if there's a defect.

This is in USD, and the Aussie dollar is terrible. So I found you save maybe about 100 bucks on local stock with a quick search. Perhaps there are places you can get it cheaper at.

Plus it does take a while for the units to ship via Massdrop. But if it's the cheapest, then it's the cheapest!

      • That's true, but this includes the PMP which is normally around $50 separately.

        • I factored that in as well :)

I just wish our dollar was better lol.

Guys strongly recommend not to buy! Bought one local 5 months ago and thing is overheating whilst in parking mode since warmer weather. I then have to remove unit, put it in front of a/c vent for few mins before it will turn back on. Weather outside car reaching 26 degrees only (car obviously hotter). No way i would want this issue without warranty. It occasionally crashes too.

Would probably buy again but not without warranty! You have been warned. Also dashcam sellers do price match. Also powermagic pro with my bmw car battery gives me 2 days of parking mode and that's it, camera is completely useless in total darkness if you were planning on using it on street for parking at night, and when someone damages your car in parking mode have fun watching 10 hours of footage trying to catch them. Even with 8 x vlc windows across 2 screens with 3x speed took very long time to watch videos.

    • I'm not really surprised. Previous BlackVue models have also had reports of problems in hot weather. I agree with you about being a big risk not to have local warranty.

  • Pretty overpriced for what it is. If anyone is looking at this consider the K1S or Lukas LK-7950 WD both dual channel as well.

Lukas LK-7950 WD - seems to be the most suitable dual channel recorder for aussie temps but front camera is pretty big

K1S - love this unit but it doesn't look like it is rated for Aussie summers also it looks cheap build quality wise

    • Wish I had known about the Lukas before I bought my DR650… the operating temps and supported memory sizes are impressive
