Hi guys,
Received a weird email this morning.
I'm currently in Vietnam for 5 weeks, I checked into my Airbnb 4 weeks ago and I am leaving in one week's time. This morning I got an email from them (Airbnb) saying $106 is overdue and they haven't been able to charge my card (it is currently overlimit).
I checked my receipt on the Airbnb page from when I booked and sure enough it says:
Payment Received: Thu, July 23, 2015 $710 AUD
Overdue Payment $106 AUD
Balance $106 AUD
Doesn't Airbnb take the full amount at time of reservation? I haven't been able to find anything on the net or Airbnb's help pages about them taking more money after you've checked in.
What do I do? It's clear that they didn't take the full amount and are now asking me to pay the remainder, but why? I'm confused.
EDIT: I just found out that because mine is a long term reservation (over 28 nights) they take the payment in monthly instalments. Nice of them to make this clear when I booked…
I don't understand your confusion. If you agree that they didn't take the full amount, why don't you also agree that you owe them the remainder?
