Half Priced "Extra Sensitive" Dove Soap - 4 Pack for $4.24 @ Woolworths

82

As I'm one to buy "extra sensitive" Dove soap in quantity I thought I should post this info to those on OzB that may have overlooked this current half price special.

The special ends on the 23rd though there's still enough time to drop and order online or pop in your local and make a purchase.

I've included a generic "Dove" search link as it appears quite a few products in the range are either half price or reduced.

There are a few active deals for Woolies via Cashrewards including the 5% discount on their e-vouchers which may be helpful.

For those who choose to neg this deal you may want to consider that the "extra sensitive" bars are not available at your discount stores hence why this is a worthy price.

Not a bargain … standard everyday price in the Reject Shop, '$2' shops, Hot Dollar is $1 per bar of Dove soap, even the scented varieties. We always use Dove and never buy in Woolies or Coles.

The dove you buy in these stores is often the original formula some have some of the other scented varities.

If you want the sensitive variation then they are not available at this price from these stores.

    • Thanks but I disagree as I personally never used the plain Dove bars unless I'm stuck in a third world country where the "extra sensitive" are not available

I've updated my post to reflect my personal preference which is not available in your local $2 shop.

    • Great that you can get the plain bars at that price but perhaps keep in mind that states like WA (where I'm based) don't yet have Aldi stores.

  • $1 is the usual "bargain" price at other stores, so you're actually paying Woolworths more, unless you have no access to other stores or using a $10+ off $100+ coupon.

  • Dove isn't soap and isn't advertised as such. They're very careful with their wording in advertising. This also explains why it doesn't clean properly in the shower.

    • $50 million in advertising, and people still call it "soap". An advertising exec must be sobbing somewhere.

But shower gel isn't soap either. Sodium laurel sulphate cleans fine.

Well .. if your product looks like soap, feels like soap, is used like soap, is placed next to regular soap in supermarkets, and works somewhat like soap, people are going to call it soap. :)

    • Dove isn't soap indeed but I question your commentary regarding it's cleaning efficacy as I have found it to be better than soap.

Many dermatologists who aren't on the cosmetic industries tit recommend Dove Beauty bar as the best daily facial cleanser. Best in this case is merely due to the price because (despite the cosmetic/beauty industries best efforts to convince you otherwise so that they can sell you more expensive items that achieve the same thing) all that is happening is the dirt and grime that comes from everyday living is being washed off with a cleanser (surfactant?) that has an appropriate PH.

It's important to do this everyday (along with applying adequate sunscreen) if you care about aging since UV radiation and the industrial grime soup we live in due to our cars etc are the two biggest causes of skin aging.

      • If you want clean for cheap, isn't it cheaper to just get QV was or that other one that doesn't lather at all from the pharmacy?

      • How does Dove "soap" compare with the Palmolive "soap" which I have a barrel full of?

  • If you are using your 5% off wish gift cards then this works out as a decent buy

  • Still $4.03 with 5% off. Not worth the hastle when it's still cheaper everyday at other places.

    • Definitely worth the purchase if your looking for the "extra sensitive" version here in WA.

    • I've updated my original post to reflect my personal preference.

  • Thanks for the heads up.
Picked some up at Woolies. Easy as its close to me :)
