Bought some of these in the last deal and they didn't work with AA. Rep can you confirm these will work with AA?

    • +1

Not the rep but i bought one last time and definitely works with AA.

  • Both a AA [eneloop?] or 14500 only have a capacity around 2Wh.
So drawing 7W you might be lucky to get a 15 minute runtime.
[What of a test on both types of batteries Killa?]

Your old incandescent 2AA torch output around 10 lumens, for up to 4 hours.
A 40 lumen incandescent Dolphin appearing twice as bright - (40/10)^0.5

Certainly a good LED gives smoother, & better lighting.
BUT I would go for a lower [acceptable] level of illumination - with much longer runtimes.

With three levels, say moonlight (0.5 lumens) 10 & 40, your runtime could range from over 4 hours, to several days!
The helpful zoom, then concentrating the maximum beam to give a much higher level of spotlighting - LUX!

    • I have the dolphins at home. They are not that bright, just bulkier. I bought one of these small torches a while ago, and find myself using it everywhere. Will be dumping the Dolphins in favour of these little ones.

I bought 5 last time, none broken (all 5 work) and all are fine with AA too…superb quality for a $3 torch

  • I'm still waiting for mine from the last deal.

    • So Am I…..requested a refund, but its been painful.
