The new version adds a wire inside Xiaomi piston headphone, specially as the microphone cord. This is to reduce cross- interference between the headset and microphone, to let calls more stable.Fully compatible with Xiaomi phones, and new support for part functions of iPhone, iPod and other iOS devices ( volume "+ ", " - " button on IOS devices is still not operational ).

Special additional cord inserted into the microphone reduces interference between the headphones and microphone, and provides more stable calls. Fully compatible with most Android devices. Also partially supports the iOS devices (excluding the volume up/down functions).

        http://theheadphonelist.com/headphone_review/xiaomi-piston-3…

"The jump in sound quality from the original Piston to the Piston 2 was sizable – the first-gen model was bassier and had significantly poorer fidelity. Though the gap in overall sound quality between the 2nd and 3rd-gen Pistons is not as great, the new model maintains the trend toward a more balanced, less consumer-oriented sound. You will notice that aside from the Piston 2, the sets I compare the Piston 3 with are mostly in the $50-100 range – a fact that is itself a testament to the performance of the Xiaomi in-ears."

Also this deal is for the original piston.

  • I bought the Piston II from here last week and they posted the next day.

I also bought the Piston III for slightly cheaper just to compare them: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/210373

  • Never actually tried the Piston 2's, but I've heard the 3's (which i have) are a fair bit better and only cost a few dollars more.

I received the Piston 2 from ibuygou and although it looks like genuine, it doesn't smell like chocolate (rather it has a weak scent of rubber.)
And I can't really find much difference in sound quality compare to a samsung bundle earphones (sammy ones have little more bass but very hard to tell which ones which). So I advise not to expect too much from them.

    • Very unlikely to be genuine then the chocolate smell is unmistakable

  • Are these Piston II?

New to Xiaomi products and I'm a bit confused by their labeling.

    • Yes, they are 2.1.

The updated version of the Piston 2.
