  • Great price - thanks for post

WOW! That is bloody cheap! Looks like they're gonna release a successor. Normally over $300 without the heart rate monitor.

    • +1

      RRP is $399

and the bonus Heart Rate Monitor is valued at $79.99

      • I got mine for like $360 and was quite happy. That was last year. Cashed in on two promotions, though. Got the fitness watch, the speed/cadence sensor and the case.

  • I also got one at JB Bankstown.

    Here's a review of it
    http://cycletraveller.com.au/australia/gear/review-magellan-…

I think this GPS is really good value considering it packs in so many features

    • +1

Very good choice. Best bike navigation on the market. Other features are top notch as well.

  • Does it come with speed and cadence sensor?

    • No, but is not too expensive. I think $50 RRP.

      • Do you know if the 505 is compatible with power meters?

        • +1

As long as they support ANT+ or Bluetooth it shouldn't be an issue. If you aren't sure, just drop a short email to their support. They usually answer rather quickly.

    • If it's the same as the 505HC then according to the website it does include speed and cadence sensors
      http://www.magellangps.com.au/Products/Cyclo_505HC
"Magellan ANT+ Heart rate monitor and Speed and Cadence Sensor included in the box".

      • This deal has the HR monitor via redemption so I don't think it includes the cadence sensor.

        • +1

can confirm it does not have the cadence sensor

      • This is the 505 the 505hc is a different pack

Bargain, I paid $250 not too long ago from DS for the 500 model. The 505 has ANT+ and with this bonus HR monitor, and $50 less, can't complain! Loved the Cyclo so far

Just out of interest - have you owned a garmin? I'm not sure if (in this case) it's worth the extra $s to go with the obvious industry leader.

  • Just wondering how detailed are the maps suppose to be? Because in my device it's shows the whole of Australia and my state (NSW). But when I zoom in further into Sydney and then to my region the map just goes blank. Is this normal? I thought the device was able to display streets but doesn't seem to be the case. Can someone confirm?

    • Nevermind. Turns out I had a problem updating the latest map so that was why they weren't showing up. All fixed now.

  • Nice!! This is bargain!

  • Bought one today from Harvey Norman - Adelaide City - $197. Didn't need to ask to price match - they already had it in their system.

  • Damn! Nice find, OP. I bought the 500 on Thursday for $189.50 from DSE. I'd have paid the extra tenner for the 505 for the ANT+ support. Yep, guessing a new model is on the way since we're seeing a consistent repricing of these. Great little unit.

  • If anyone is still looking at buying it, it's $181.84 (+ delivery or free pickup) at JB Hifi Commercial, you can access it here: https://jbcommercial.com.au/familyandfriends/?e=7da34b3bdfc5… and then search for 'Cyclo'.

  • Harvey Norman has it for $197 including the HBM via redemption

    http://www.harveynorman.com.au/connected-fitness-health/fitn…

and if you sign up to the online newsletter you get $25 off which makes it $172.

  • Just picked one up at HN, $197, didn't realise there was the $25 signup bonus! Bugger…
tried to enter the serial number into the promotion for HR monitor and keep getting an error "Serial number too short"?? Have emailed support.

    • Try putting SN at the front of the serial number

      • +1

        thanks.

ended up just putting an S at the front, apparently if there's an issue they will email.

  • Anyone got their heart rate monitors yet?

    • nope, still waiting. Will post when I do

  • Says in the T&C that it could take up to 45 days after the redemption is received

  • don't want to wait for a redemption and want the speed/cadence?
    505HC for $AUD239
or you could add cadence to OP for $55 from ActiveStride

  • Picked up the HR strap from the post office this morning. Opened it up to check the battery and the back cover half disintegrated.
Gonna contact support to see if they can send another cover as its not fully sealed now… bummer

    • Checked mine it seemed okay, its a bit weird how it clips on to the strap. Hopefully it doesnt unclip during a riding session

      • it should stay in fine. Have had an older bluetooth hr strap for a few years now with an identical design and haven't had any issues with it.

        • It feels like wearing a bra
