    Is this a joke? lol
    That price is pretty funny.

Get a proper pair of audiophile headphones for $180. The Audio Technica ATH-AD900X is $4 cheaper on Ebay from a popular ebay seller (dwidigitalcomputers) and it blows these tin cans away in terms of technology and build quality.

I don't usually like to give unwarranted criticism on Beats headphones, but at this price point you'd be a fool to buy them over audiophile grade headphones.

First of all, you are bringing a full sized open headphone against a closed on-ear headphone. While I am almost certain that full sized one would sound better indoor (with less noise and all), for outdoor usage? You'd be sharing your music with any bystanders and all the noises from outside be hearable. Since the outside noises are at tend to reside in the lower frequency, bass tend to get overwhelmed (a reason why many headphones designed for outdoor have boosted bass). What you've brought up are designed for indoor usage is what I am trying to say. If you've brought up something like ATH-M50x, I would've been like, eh, that's reasonable criticism since it's closed can (albeit full sized). That's said, I've not tried ATH-M50x yet, I've heard good things about it planning on going to Minidisk at one point.

Secondly, Solo2 is not that bad. I know that this sounds unreasonable to many people, but as far as I seen, it wasn't that bad. On-Ear headphones are not my forte, I prefer full sized open headphones. That said, they sounded alright to me when I tried them out. I do admit that it was at a JB HiFi and I've tried them out for a short period of time, but I think I would've at least been able to determine whether it was crap at least.

Just in case I sounded like an idiot who just loves Beats because it's Beats, I am not. I hated Beats products when my brother had one. Anyways, here is an endorsement by Tyll from InnerFidelity as well. http://www.innerfidelity.com/content/time-rethink-beats-solo…

The point I was making in the second paragraph; Solo2 was alright in my opinion.

Have you actually tried the Solo2 out? If you are criticising it without giving it a go, I think you are being unfair.
If you think I am an idiot for thinking that Solo2 is alright, here is a recommendation by Tyll.
If you think he's being paid for that kind of recommendation, the link I've given you shows you measurements, you can make your own decisions based on that if you want.

Beats brand hold awful reputation that from their older products (this, I agree, the $500 one my brother had was awful), but I thought Solo2 was decent.

Just an FYI, those AD900X are grey imports so not exactly a fair comparison.

  • I bought Beats studio last year (oct) before going overseas, I read every single comment on here about beats being rubbish and not that good of quality, but I didn't buy it. I thought yall just hating on my swagger lol.

I used them on the trip and I thought they were pretty good, put them away and didn't really use them up until a few months ago when my other PC set of headphones broke. I started using them and I started to notice they weren't that good after all, and last week the ear cushion ripped and had to be sent back (good guys wouldn't refund or replace even with a receipt.

I am now hopeful they won't repair them and will offer me a full refund, in which case I will have $300 to spend on quality headphones, I was thinking Bose ?

    • Beyerdynamics for da bass.

      Doof doof doof!

They sound like most other headphones to me, tried all the Beats at the store and just like most other expensive headphones they sound pretty much all the same to me

    • very funny.

    • Definitely a disadvantage to be deaf.

      • I think it's worse to be so dumb that you spend $100's on nothing, just because you gullible
