Yes, but it still could be part of the brand name or flavouring. =)
We (Aussies) used to call it Blue Grenadier, Hoki is/was the Kiwi name, and as a lot of it is imported from New Zealand the name seems to have come with it.
Macca's "fillet of fish" is Hoki.
New zealand marketing kiwi fruit is chinese goosebery and possum is exported as kiwi bear and hoki is blue grenadier a name can make the ordinary extraordinary

Had some By George salmon the other day and it was not, so the skin was thrown away.Don't know about these but the "By George" oven baked fish portions tasted like crap.
