have only a single garage , and dont want to take risk to park bus outside

Mercedes R class. 6 seats, spacious enough for 6 large adults.
All second hand (discontinued now), so some of the earlier models may be within budget.

who buy mercs and goes to oz bargain

      • +2

All I did was offer a 6 seater car, they're rare. Plus, how do the rich stay rich? By grabbing a good deal.

    • Lol with OP's budget they'd be likely looking at an 07 model with around 100,000kms

8yo Merc with 100,000kms? Umm no

No need to downvote because you don't like an option. After all it's an option, I'm not telling OP to get it.

        • That is the only reason I would downvote something

        • @AFA:
The option is not for you, it's for the OP

        • @ATangk: shirley OP can share

    • i thought Mercedes is only for reach people !

Not really, people with short arms can use them too.

  • The Peugeot 308 wagon. It's probably the smallest 7 seater I've come across. the back 2 seats can be removed and it becomes a 5 seater.
It's the height of any normal hatch.

if you find a new eg 2013 up. the interior is a lot nicer too. http://www.carsales.com.au/dealer/details/Peugeot-308-2013/O…

  • after going through all comments, more confused, looks like CX-9 is good option from what i read.

    • I suggest you test drive one. They are smooth and comfortable. Great for kids. Spacious. Mazdas usually have a good resale value too. Owned a Mazda 2 and 3 before and sold them for the price i paid. Just check on fuel consumption and if it is affordable for you perhaps.

apologies everybody - had to go hospital in emergency so couldnt reply

  • The new x-trail…. 7 seats…. first 5 are fully flexible so that you can move them to make as much space as you need for the 3rd row. 2.5L engine.. excellent equipment levels..under 32K… wait for 1% Nissan finance

  • some of my friends suggested JEEP CHEROKEE Longitude , anyone has more suggestion/comment on this one ?

I avoid buying new cars. Too much depreciation involved. If you're savvy you can buy a car only a couple years old for a fraction of the original price.

    • I agree with you but there are some exceptions… My brother picked up brand new mazda cx5 for 30K. 3 years later they are still worth 25K…

      • I agree regarding Mazdas. Had a Mazda 2 and 3 in past and always got what i paid for them or more. Good resale value.

    Smallest and best 6 seater?

    Kia Rondo

    http://www.kia.com.au/cars/people-movers/rondo/7-seats

    • Looks great for a people mover
    • Not huge like a Carnival\Tarago
    • Well priced
    • 5 Star Safety
    • Reviews are positive
    • Cheap to insure\service
    • 7 Year warranty.
    • And another car that people aren't buying, so either buy a 1yo one, or just expect pretty bad depreciation.

    • I think Scotty said he has a Rondo in his AMA.

He also said it was severely underpowered. Doesn't sound too appealing at all.

        • depends on your overall needs. the petrol Rondo, of course would be sluggish, but no reason why the diesel would be.

Personally I'd rather just get a Ferrari, but that's just me.

    • Question is:- can you afford it?

    • +2

Can't really drive around in a matchbox car :P

    • Yes! Jeremy Clarkson built a train sports car! Perhaps one of those?

  • This is my personal opinion: I know there is a lot of perception about FIAT (Fix it again Tony) and Jeep, but I have owned a Fiat Freemont for the last close to 3 years now and I haven't had any issues at all touchwood

Why don't you check out the Fiat Freemont Crossroad? It comes with loads of features and storage space and is relatively cheaper than other 7-seaters out there.

Nissan Dualis +2 is probably one of the smaller 7-seaters you can buy, you can get a decent second hand model (2011-2014) for around 20-25k. But personally I would rather spend a bit more and get something a bit bigger and more comfortable like a Ford Territory Diesel. Mazda CX-9 is nice but very heavy on fuel, and has no diesel option.

  • Had the same requirement myself - needed a car with lots of leg room in the back. Had a good look around, and ended up getting a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder. I like the fact it's a 7-seater, and the middle row is on rails so you can adjust the legroom to the rear seats.

  • Subaru Forester 2015 2.5i-L with the only proper AWD for 32.5k new. Have one and is super space rear seats , 3 baby seat no problem. :D

Driving one now i got at that price.

I'd recommend Kia Rondo, Kia's customer service is really good

  • Same boat as you (when i read ur post, totally remind me of myself and thought "hey i didn't post this"). I got the oddysey
good people mover, no space for luggage

I prefer Nissan dualis +2 (5+2) — only good until ur kid turn 10-12
    but wife makes the call

    • Happy wife, happy life? Something like that..(edgar28)

      • totally….. so that I can get more cheap "unnecessary" stuff on ozbargain….

Man is the top of the world, until u got married with kids, u can't even switch the TV channels

        • Aww. I hear you. That is so true though. I am not keen on practical family cars myself. You only have 1 car i take it?
