I bought mine on a HN deal for $24 about 2 years ago. I don't like the sound much, a bit low with too much bass
reviews are across the board.
I've used Sennheiser before. These are just as good. Memory foam on the ear bits. Play button on the cord. Great value. Clean clear crisp sound. Good base
Sennheiser 'whats' though? They do a huge range, you can't just compare Philips vs Sennheiser. These are an average headphone even for just your everyday listener. For $50 they're just about a relatively good buy. No way would I be happy if I'd have paid $150 though, way better headphones available for the money
Sennheiser is a brand. They're well made but tonally poor.
*Bass.
downtown is bad, was $30 at dicksmith for the whole year. uptown is good but sold out
Both have issues. if you want decent cans, look elsewhere (even for $50)
I have both uptown and downtown models. I paid less than less for both of them. (True oz bargainer) I enjoy the sound and comfort of wear from both. For $50'ish, wellllll I wouldn't pay that, but that's me. I Like top sound for less bucks.
Are they any good?
