  • I got all excited and then realised it was Mono not Colour! Still a nice small office multifunction with duplex at this price.

    Hi StoreRep,

    I have a few questions:
    1. How much is the cost of the cartridge?
    2. Roughly how many prints for a cartridge?
    3. Will the scanner and functions still work when the cartridge low or none?

    Thank you.

  • The cartridge cost is $240 inc

    Prints per cartridge is 11,000

Scanner will work providing you are not scanning to output ( ie: Saving it to a computer – not printing)

  • We currently have the Samsung SCX4833FR which has been strong until it started jamming recently.
How does this printer compare ?

  • No cheap A3 lasers?

    • A3 lasers are never cheap, because the people/companies who usually buy them can't go without them. Nothing increases the price like selling to a captive market.

Same goes for A3 paper. It's twice the size of A4 paper, but it isn't twice the price, more like 5 times.

  • When compared to Samsung The Fuji Xerox has a stronger engine, better durability, lower running cost , a true Office Workhorse.

  • How would this printer go with less use (intermittent, say a few small documents each week)? I find inkjet printers do not like this usage pattern. Ink clogs and the nozzles are always cleaning. I need the scanning option and like the duplex flexibility.

    • Depends on the Printer I guess. I had the same experience with inkjets too (years ago) and figured a laser would be a better option for a low use printer for much the same reasons however i found that they weren't any more reliable and had various issues with the print quality on them even with very low page counts, often never even getting past the starter toner (tiny capacity as they are) before it didn't make sense to throw good money after bad at them and to cut my losses and move on.
My current printer is an Epson Workforce Inkjet - i have decided to spend a bit more on a slightly higher end "Office Quality" inkjet printer on the theory that it might be better built than the cheap and nasty home ones… Might work, maybe it won't but so far it has been good.
It cost about the same as this deal did, has similar abilities with duplex printing and scanning etc and so far I like it. Oh and it's a colour printer :-)

Don't print a lot with it (few times a week at best) but so far it hasn't given me any grief whatsoever.

  • Lasers are better machines for infrequent use as Toners are made up of powder, so they won’t dry out like an inkjet printer would from lack of use – especially over the warmer months of the year.

good mfp that actually supports network wia/twain.

  • Hi rep/good folks of ozbargain,

Is this printer a good choice for home use? I don't have much use of a printer, only occasional print or two and it will mostly site idle.

  • +1

This printer is a business grade unit and not really designed for home use.

  • Which is it? Cannot be both.

    Gigabit Ethernet

    Ethernet 10/100 Base-TX

  • Sorry it is Ethernet 10/100 Base-TX. Copy updated.
