I Need Help Find Factory Outlets, Discontinued Stock, Auction Houses, Warehouse Items for School Fete in October in Sydney

I have spent a fair bit of time on Google trying to find factory outlet stores and such where I can buy stock to resell, just cheap stuff sort of like what you find at market. I just do not seem to be getting anywhere… so if you any suggestions please help thanks

Is it for a stall that you want to run?

Get in the kitchen the day before and just bake and create. Probably the best profitable thing you could do. These days more people are clued into the cheap chinese import stuff and will just walk straight past. If you have a cake & sweets stall you'll make a good profit.

    Sausage Sizzle.

  • I agree with the food stall, home made goods idea. The other option is getting people to donate things they don't want anymore but are good enough to sell, e.g. clothes, cushions, books, etc. The really good stuff could be combined into blind auction baskets.

  • great ideas thanks, still would like to find a few items to sell for a profit, as well and I am not sure about the rules when selling food, think it has to be labeled or something so need to find that out.

  • Not sure if you are familiar with it but Liverpool markets has a huge $1 area. Wide variety of everything. Good for kids and fetes. Things are actually pretty good. Just an idea. Thing with food are allergies etc i guess.

  • thanks will look at these options thanks all, but still wonder how do the market stall people get there stock, must be somewhere as basically that is what we are doing.. so if anyone knows how to find wholesale factory direct or importers who will sell to public in Sydney please let me know, thanks

They plan further in advance and get a whole bunch of stuff from Hong Kong, either via Ebay or other means. Or they already do that as a home business, so they just have to bring stock from home.

But it doesn't solve the fact that what they sell is lousy and overpriced, and a lot of people are more clued into that these days.

  • so any local outlets in Sydney for cheap products like household items and bathroom laundry cleaning and such - anyone know of any factory shops selling seconds or similar.

    • What do you have in mind?

I cant say anyone really goes to a school fete, and they feel the urge to splurge on cleaning products…! Not to mention, then carrying that around the fete.

  • yes Spackbace you are right, we were thinking of the raffle wheel to make up a few baskets.. guess if we could find any factory outlets we would could come up with other ideas, but at the moment we are relying on supermarket specials
