I know it's eBay, but this is eBay's Big Deal for today. A fairly cheap price for a decent HDMI cable.

Yep generally you can find them for $5
Is there any diff between 5$ cable and a 50$ cable or do they all the same job?
The quality of the image is the same, but the durability of the cable might be better for the $50 ones. I would rather buy 10 $5 ones than purchase one $50 one.
this one seems a bit better quality than the $5 ones… this is a Oxygen-Free Copper one, which generally proves for better cable (does not lose quality as quick)
it's a digital cable. it'll either work or not. the only difference in image quality will be from the source device or the display itself. not the (digital) transmission medium and generally its the display that will be doing the resolution scaling and adding digital artifacts/ugliness etc.
if someone can double blind test and perceive ANY difference in any HDMI cable (other than what the source signal and display are doing with it) than i'll give them 1000 internets or a 1 fillion dollars!
the v1.x revisions just allow it to support higher standards and more DRM etc… however most standards are engineered to failback to something that works-e.g, HDMI 1.0 cable will display signal, but not HDCP encoded content (e.g, bluray/upscaled DVD's etc) HDMI 1.4 cables support the latest and greatest 2k/4k resolutions and 3D content and an ethernet channel. nothing you kids need to worry about untill 1080p isn't the highest res you see in consumer panels, or not for a few years at least.
From the reviews ive read … there isnt much different in the quality of the picture itself. The cables are v1.3 which provide up to 10Gbps which if the cable didnt meet this standard, then that would turn into a legal debate then.
I'm using that $5.95 cable hooked up to my PS3 and i've had no problems with it..
Not a good deal

erm any idea why this deal has suddenly disappeared from the main list? or is it because its gone negative with votes?
"new deals - first page" it won't be on the first page, as there's a flood of deals coming through
"new deals - any page" probably because it has a number of negatives, and your viewer is probably set to zero or -1 as the lowest
sorry but if you look around you can get cables cheaper ..
